He must of thought about the back lash it would receive with the splins sticking of, why did it not be in reverse so the splines are the opposite way round and made smaller.

There is a flaw in the design though, if the fish pulls hard enough to overcome the spring tension which releases the catches then the spring wont do anything as the fish is already pulling more than the spring can pull. Total gimic designed to catch fishermens money!

We've moved from skillfully fishing with float, stalking, freelining, and ledgering to various bolt rigs where the fish basically hook themselves to end up now relying on a spring loaded trap that hooks the fish for you. To me... this is the pits.
Our Eastern European friends might like them to help with their Sunday lunch though.

I'm not saying it's not effective. I haven't used it... but... correct me if I'm wrong. Look at the photo that they're super proud of. That fish is HOOKED. It's properly done. Right through the lip. Now look at the Magic Twig (they've even circled it for you) it's still loaded. It's not gone off yet. That fish was hooked regardless of if you had a Magic Twig, a normal twig, an old shoelace or anything else attached to it. It's the same with the other video. It's just giving it a little pull on the face once it's already hooked and helping to set it more securely... but it's not doing what he's saying it is in that video.

Looks like an anchor works like an anchor . Its the magic anchor . Tie a spring loaded anchor to your rig today no fish is getting away . Imagine if it was bigger one size up

I mean im a match angler, but for me this is just an inovation in fishing. Fishing progresses and people either progress with the times or stay in the past usually in match fishing the ones that go with the innovation do better. If you want more hook ups and this device dose so why wouldnt you use it. People are on about it getting snagged up youre hooklink should break first surely so the fish wouldnt be draggin it round anyway.

Tried the heavy twig recently on a private lake with no snags/weed. Wanted the medium setting but sold out everywhere. No bites on the rod with the twig on so cannot comment on the setting the hook side of it. But, retrieving the rig and then casting it out again without PVA tape tied to the twig still didn't activate it so I cannot see how it would ever activate when it should when a carp picked it up?
