In this presentation librarians and an instructional designer from the George Washington University will describe how they worked together starting in March 2020 to incorporate instructional design principles into synchronous and asynchronous library instruction. The result is a skillset that has improved library instruction with the potential to continue in the physical classroom.

Goals
1. An introduction to key instructional design principles, technologies, and pedagogies with an emphasis on alignment, interactivity, and accessibility.
2. Practical applications of these principles for online information literacy instruction.
3. Designing and deploying high-quality asynchronous information literacy learning modules.
4. Tips for engaging students in the virtual classroom.
