Android Studio on Apple Silicon M1
I’ve tested both the MacBook Pro and the MacBook Air on Apple M1 CPU with Android Studio, Android SDK and NDK and it made me impressed. Unfourtunately the Air died so I won’t run and buy any of these right now, but in 2021 I’ll definitely update my MacBook Pro to an Apple Silicon one!
Here is the repo for the benchmark:

Fork it. Then declare two variables in the terminal:
export ANDROID_SDK_HOME=absolute path to your Android SDK
export ANDROID_NDK_HOME=absolute path to your Android NDK
Then trigger the compilation:
./ffmpeg-android-maker.sh -abis=arm
First try will take longer time because it will download the sources from the internet, so once it’s done, trigger the compilation again and then you may start measuring.

Hello, I am writing from Turkey. I am a Software Engineering student. I am interested in mobile application development. I want to code Swift, Kotlin, and Flutter. I will be using Android Studio and XCode. Which Apple product do you think I should buy? I'm thinking of the Macbook Air M1 8gb ram model right now. Apple products in Turkey is quite expensive and I'm a student. That's why I want to make the right decision. Your help is very important to me.

Hi there, have you ever encountered Force Closed because system is out of memory while using Android Studio?

The M1 chip's performance seems good enough for light users. hope my iMac is still alive until apple finish the mac transition to apple silicon. btw, MacBook Air is always the best travel companion.
