Does anyone have any idea what to do if your famicom does not have an RF modulator? Could I technically solder one in place?
ОтветитьIn Europe you can listen to Japanese consoles on FM radio hahaha still even if you get some Japanese tv tuner it does not really work well because you will keep on receiving a strong FM radio signal overlapping with your console.... It makes it a noisy mess I'll try that adjustment on Nintendo tvg, if I can bring it below 90mhz then it shouldn't keep mixing with the radio.
ОтветитьI'm confused. What's that black bar that keeps scrolling down the tv and is there a way to remove it? It seems to me your TV is not a progressive scan, but should be using interlacing?
ОтветитьI opened my famicom and I don't see a green potentiometer anywhere, what do I do?
ОтветитьI'm not sure if we had the "Bob" and "Sue" designations for specific frequency ranges in Sweden. I just remember that before automatic channel discovery there was a plastic screw below each channel button on the TV that you twisted until one of the two available public service terrestrial stations appeared or the video game console or home computer of course 😊
ОтветитьVery interesting
ОтветитьI have a question! Would that work to get it to channel 1 or 2 if you "tune" it or does the potentiometer not work like that? In other words, is 6 the lowest you can "tune" it?
ОтветитьThis hack won't work for me cause I have a different model.
ОтветитьThat was so cool to see!
ОтветитьWhat actual model Toshiba TV is that?
ОтветитьWhy did you put "do not stare at this?" Ghosts could possess us or something? I stared
ОтветитьMan this entire radio frequency tuning section absolutely blew my mind. So how different is the NTSC NES? Since it's tuned to channel 3 and 4 natively. Channel 3 sits at 60 - 66 mhz while channel 4 sits at 66 - 72. Can the US NES also be tuned and is it possible to even increase the clarity of the RF picture? If so, can you show a more detailed video of how you accomplished such a feat? I really have to know as my curiosity is out of control at this point. Also, how did you get the audio to come over the radio just by tuning it? Did you have to hook the audio up to the radio or was that sound just floating about the air waves? Oh man I really hope you can answer my questions. The main reason is that I love RF signal the most and use it on all my old consoles instead of composite, s-video, rgb, scart, component, and hdmi. So, is it possible to create a much higher quality cable but using only RF? I saw that you said you switched out the cable for a better one and I'd love to know what you did and what you even mean by this. Thank you for your awesome videos I appreciate you.
Ответить"Don't stare at this"
Awh man!!!!!
Would have been better if u crumpled up the instructions
ОтветитьIs there ever a chance of tuning any NTSC-U or NTSC-J to a PAL TV via RF in a similar fashion? From what I read over the years, no, but this video renews my hope somewhat. I know about RGB and NTSC composite on PAL TVs and all that, but I specifically would like to play on RF sometimes, because that's what I grew up with, but at 60Hz. I'm looking into importing a CRT from back home if not, but it would be nice if there was a way.
Update: Imported a 1970s Trinitron from Japan (KV-1300), got a voltage transformer, it survived the trip and I've been basking in RF nostalgia ever since with the Famicom, and run NES versions via the Everdrive when I want it.
Using a VCR as an intermediate between the TV and another device is a workaround I remember from back in the day.
ОтветитьThat doesn't quite explain why they use channel 95/96. Is that channel 3/4 in Japan?
ОтветитьOMG what's with the freaky "Do Not Stare At This" warning??
Is this an epilepsy warning, or part of the Ring video??
Good to know.
ОтветитьJust sharing :) Here in the Philippines, the Family Computer is set to run under TV Channels 4 or 13 XD
ОтветитьChannel 11 here in the Philippines
ОтветитьIt's worth noting that channels 2 through 6 were inside what used to be known as "VHF Band I", and channels 7 through 13 were inside "VHF Band III". (VHF Band II is where FM radio usually is)
ОтветитьDO NOT STARE
ОтветитьDamn, you gave me so much information. All of the forums I read just left me with more confusion. Thank you!
ОтветитьWhat kind of capacitors do you need to replace the old ones?
ОтветитьAs someone from the uk i have always found the fixed channel system the us had uterly bizare. Over here tvs did not have fixed channels. You had to tune your tv just like a radio either with a dial or presets or later auto scanning.
ОтветитьI've still got my mom's origonal Atari 7800 and it uses RF.
ОтветитьDoes this mean that I could tune my NES to channel 96 and get awesome radio stations?
Ответить"Do not stare at this" maan that text got in the way of all the fun...
ОтветитьDo you go clockwise or counter when spinning? I dont want to sit there windering the whole time "am I spinning this the right way"
ОтветитьJourney to Silius FM Station, nice
ОтветитьYou could browse the internet for roms of old games...plus emulators for those games
😊
This is what I do when I am bored of new games and started going back to the classic age 😃
I used to have it...but not the original but chinese one.....and yeah...we connected the machine using rf but the channel was U channel on Tv...from old TVs 😃.. Hitachi TV to be exact 😊
In Jordan
i fully intend to do this and i fully intend to use an SDR receiver to visualize the tuning process.
ОтветитьIs NTSC 4.43 = NTSC-J ?
Because i have a multisystem TV that could receive NTSC 4.4.3
Thank you very much for the information, it has really helped me a lot.
Greetings from Chile.
This video sucks. How to change the capacitors in my shit.
ОтветитьMy VCR has only 16 channels.
ОтветитьWhy do not stare at the television static?
ОтветитьAdjusting internal trim pots is more scary than soldering for me
ОтветитьFrequency is the distance of actual items within this universe which is a system within a system and their actual space in positive infinity. Blackholes are created when that frequency glitches when a too big star collapses too fast. To be able to connect to the same broadcast by tuning to a frequency is pretty awesome and is miraculous.
ОтветитьThis is completely useless yet highly rousing info. love your work!
ОтветитьThe more you know. TV is just a radio with graphics in channel construction as well. Makes sense if you're not stupid like me! So essentially you just tune your famicom like a radio.
ОтветитьI think channel 96 was the Spice channel when I was a kid. Millennials won't know what that is.
ОтветитьI like how you snuck Journey to Silius in there.
ОтветитьOld video, I know, but what are those two sprites behind your TV set up? (Right side of the screen during the channel tuning section, the red lady and blue boi)
Ответить
