if i press ctrl+space+w on membrane keyboard it doesn't register. but when i use mechanical keyboard it does register.

I actually use both mechanical and membrane and am usually rocking 2 keyboards at the same time. I prefer to use a membrane in the evening as the sound of even brown or red switches annoys me, I like the feel of a good membrane keyboard. I mostly use mechanical throughout the day. I like new old stock vintage membrane keyboards as they actually have really nice travel and feel while being silent outside my room in the house I share. You get extremist fanboys in all aspects of life - keyboards being one of them. I could not imagine basing my entire personality and online persona off of what keyboard I use. That's pretty sad or "lame" as you lot would say no offence meant to Glarses.

I think that you just bought the wrong keyboards. Membranes are cheap for a reason, especially the Razer Cynosa you mentioned. These keyboards tend to get stuck A LOT. You have to put so much effort to press keys and many times they miss reading the input. I've used many keyboards the past 14 years and I have to say that membrane will never be better than mechanical or magnetic switches in terms of durability and money to quality ratio.

Lets go i i have 4 membrane Keyboards so if i Dont like the mechanichal one BYE BYE and i use again the best Keyboard i have now because i will have the mechanichal like tomorrow

The first time I was using a computer was 30 years ago. It was a mechanical keyboards. Every single computer on the lab was mechanical keyboard those days. It was clutchy, clunky and as hard to type as typewriter, thick as brick... surefire to CTS and shoulder pain. I think the only good thing with mechanical keyboard back then was that you can build your finger muscles typing on those keyboards. The first time I used Logitech membrane keyboard... I feel like poking a pillow, it silent and soft. I fell in love right away with membrane keyboard. I can't fathom why people hates membrane keyboard so much these days.

Membrane keyboard never breaks. My mechanical one broke they started double tapping and not working after just 1 year

If you like a membrane. Give me that old mech I'ma frankenswitch it.

why was the title in 2023 instead of 2018

never had a mechanic keyboard. and i play on pc for 20 years. never felt like it's bad.

first off u using a blue switch for your demonstration which is literally the loudest switch you can buy, second off theres 100's of different mechanical switches, maybe you should try a different switch and see if you like that

Milton, best quakeworld player, prefers membrane over mechanical, and even measured mistakes made while speedrunning. He and his friend performed better on membrane.

I've been using an ergonomic membrane keyboard for over a year ($4, second hand). This week I got a full size mechanical keyboard ($45, second hand). I used it for a day. I did not get any magical feeling from typing on the mechanical switches. However, I did feel the strain on my hands from trying to adapt them to the shape of the keyboard. Maybe one day I'll try a mechanical ergonomic keyboard, but I can't justify the expense at this point.

Best part is money,i can buy three full RGB membranes for the price of one RGB mechanical.

I like Membrane keyboard because it is the best i can Afford and atleast i can easily get 60wpm and heading towards 90wpm

The spacebar on a cheap mechanical keyboard in our computer science classroom at school sounds better than the spacebar on my HyperX alloy origins core (which is really true for any mechanical keyboard from any major manufacturer e.g Razer, Logi, Steelseries).
The only mechanical keyboards that are good are custom, or those purchased from lesser known but not inferior brands. I have already supported a local brand from my country by purchasing a keyboard of theirs which at a price point of around 70$ converted from my currency is better than any hyperx, razer, logitech keyboard I've tried if not in terms of software and aesthetics than in terms of tactility and sound

I swiched from an Corsair K70 RGB lux to a Steelseries apex 3 tkl and i do not regret it at all

mechanical keyboard is awesome dude,and that because the customable of it,you can change the keycaps,switch and even the case,and there was so many layout on mechanical keyboard that you can search where most suitable for you

And why not have both? You buy a TKL mechanical keyboard just for gaming and when you don't need to play, you change with membrane keyboard, so you have all the advantage of each one.
