Epictetus: "Freedom is secured not by the fulfilling of one's desires, but by the removal of desire."
Ответитьyou know you want to make radical changes in your life when you search for this
proud of u doing that :)
I can appreciate the message and the philosophy but I certainly wouldn’t want to share an elevator with Ryan.
ОтветитьThis is what the world needs more of.
You want to help yourself?
You want to help the world?
This is a grand beginning.
This is the first content I have seen on philosophy and the stoic. And it's crazy that not more people talk about it as I see a lot of moden day people in these old Stoics like David Goggins, Andrew Tate, Muhamid Ali, Mike Tison, Wim Hoff. All these people and more do a lot of the things your talking about in this video and following the example of Stoic. Witch is really cool to see. As I try and follow the moden day people and learn from them. But now I know it goes back further and I can learn from the Stoic themselves. Many thanks.
ОтветитьSir i am proud of you
Ответитьyo should make book on stoic that is completely relevant in modern world with reasonable examples and reallife solutions and tips
ОтветитьYou helped me a lot with your videia friend 😊
ОтветитьI am very sensitive and its very annoying but i am glad atleast i dont give up thanks to stoicism i can controll my emotions beterr now i still havr a long way to go but i feeel like i must not care about external events, like it doesnt matter to a stoic
Example: people be mean to you, demean you, hurt you but you get hurt because you allow yourself to be which is wrong
Never be a slave to external events you cant contrl them so accept them and move on improving yourself yes it is hard but ik pne day i will win
Thank you
Ответитьyou are scared of dying but tell me, is the kind of life you lead any different than being dead
moving forward begins with one thing, always: acceptance
i don't have to do this, i get to do this
don't say it's unfortunate that this happened to me, it's fortunate that this happened to me
run towards adversity, embrace your fate. love it with everything
I'm dealing w/anxiety, I think stemmed from depression, for the first time. I've always been pretty self-reliant and practical, etc., etc, but I'm observant and a thinker. My mind's always racing and with the world today, its tough not to get annoyed, angry to the point where I'm becoming more and more reclusive. I've recently started getting into Stoicism and meditating and I think the hardest part is where does one begin.
I think for myself, I have to focus on what causes my anxiety the most and its detaching myself from things that I can't control (VERY HARD) and being strict with myself while being tolerant of others. I think a lot of the time they're related, but its not going to be easy, but I think at this point its a must.
Thanks
ОтветитьThankyou you helped me alot please preach more and help me and others more 🙏
ОтветитьPray an of perfect contrition everyday
ОтветитьRyan, my 366 day journal just arrived yesterday. I thank you for producing an awesome journal, thanks. I love your videos, but sometimes they can be a little tough. But the is exactly what I need. I have a tendency to be lazy, but your videos about self-discipline and resilience really helps me to step out and do the work needed to achieve the goals that I have set. Thank Ryan.
ОтветитьCan i do journalling using virtual notes? Such as Notion or Doc?
Thanks
I feel like stress has broken me before I could use any of this
ОтветитьRyan do you ever take holiday?
ОтветитьCan I get recommendations of any philosopy books except meditation by Marcus
ОтветитьPhilosophers from from the Roman age have such a good wisdom about life
ОтветитьEvery man needs to watch this🙏❤️🗿
ОтветитьA life hack I've been trying lately. When I'm down in the dumps, i've stopped denying my true feelings. I've stopped saying, 'Dagnabbit. I'm blue again today 😞. Cheer up. Think happy thoughts'. Instead, I accept. I say, "Hey, I am down. The hormones, some internal conflict, something's off. It's just a fact. Sigh....
THEN, paradoxically enough, I get this relief sensation. The mood lightens up somewhat. Conscious and unconscious have been aligned. TBC
This is what young kids need to learn, not from Andrew Tate, not misogyny, but Stoicism.
ОтветитьThe time stamps 😒
ОтветитьI don’t know how many “it is what it is” I got left in me brother
ОтветитьShort answer: don’t
ОтветитьIs it a good thing or a bad thing? It’s just a thing.
ОтветитьLove your books
ОтветитьStoicism is cool because it was made because life sucks sometimes. Nothing we can do about it, so why cry. Just do what you can do and that is life, spending that much time worrying will make you seperated from the world by a glass box.
ОтветитьOr if instead of asking for an email so you can sell it why not just say where to learn the stuff like the meditations of Marcus Aurelius and the other books
Ответитьi have no enemies
ОтветитьI don't know if it's just me, but I think that person is a Stoic.
ОтветитьThank you
Ответитьfilosofem is my favorite burzum album
ОтветитьI've been practicing how to become a stoic
This journey has killed me and gave me life
One thing i noticed after i started reading about stoicism and implementing it into my life is that for most of my time on earth i had been doing things the way a stoic would, and that honestly amazed me, the fact that i was practicing stoicism without even realizing it made me believe that it is the way
ОтветитьSo good!
ОтветитьBiggest takeaway, tell yourself, "I don't have to do this, I get to do this."
ОтветитьFinding beauty in the ordinary is essentially a gratitude practice.
ОтветитьYou're teaching and videos are helping a lot of people out there myself included thank you!
ОтветитьThis is beautiful
ОтветитьI turned you off in the first 61 seconds once you started bragging. Get off my algorithm.....
ОтветитьHello from a fellow lefty!
ОтветитьThanks man
