torque being the meaningless number when hp is based on the torque number and the only number that's measurable. a ford 300 i6 doesn't go fast at 95hp, but it'll pull your damn house down at 250lb feet of torque. the reason you can output 200lb ft of torque on a torque wrench is length. try putting 200lb ft on something 4 inches long. good luck. torque absolutely matters the most.

I have a doubt. Out of these 3 engines, the GMC Sierra has lowest stroke. So ideally it should rev higher than the other 2, and should produce high-end torque (correct me if I am wrong). But still we see that it revs only upto low rpm (as compared to other 2) and produces low-end torque. Why is that?

To me the best inline 6 will always be the GM 250, Opalas here in Brazil pull over 2000hp in those engines.

They should have put the bmw b58 in the new Toyota Supra. The original Supra had a turbo inline 6. This engine is much better than what they've got in there.

The I6 engine with the48VDC electrified water pump and EQ system I think is the best. with the soft hybrid system it makes 435HP.

The B58 is the best overall inline 6 on the market, IMO. It's one of the 3 or 4 best engines BMW has ever put in a road car. It pulls like a big block from low RPMs, is silky smooth, efficient, and makes great power all the way to redline. It also sounds fantastic.

This hasn’t aged well for the gm i6. I’m a Toyota tech at a Cadillac/Toyota dealer and the gm techs here hate those engines and we’ve had plenty come in blown up because the cooling system is junk and they regularly fail before 5k miles

Power isn't the only important thing, torque is important for lower cruising RPM, it's easier to hold higher speeds at lower revs when you have high low end torque that's partially why desiels are so good for towing, you can hold speed at lower rom

The 220φ engine accelerates the ions confined in a loop to moderate the relatarvistic speeds, and then varies their velocity to make slight changes to their mass. The 221φ engine then moves ions back and forth to produce ions, thus traveling in a vacuum line, so please use cruise control on the interstate.
We could reliably get ~94% efficiency with a closed loop superheated steam system harvesting exhaust heat from a small jet engine and got just below 96% efficiency in some ideal test cases. The main limiting factors were that the discs had to be designed to stretch uniformly without distorting at ~40k RPM and that the gaps between the disks had to be designed for an incredibly specific set of operating parameters (steam temp, pressure, velocity, etc.). So it's important to use synthetic oil....

Wards anoints these engines as the "best" based solely on specifications.
IMO the best engines are those that would have good economy, bulletproof reliability and ease of repair. I had a MB 250 with carbs that was hell for durable, easy to work on and decently powerful and only fair in economy. Now working on anything other than filling wiper fluid is a nightmare.
The current German engines are not known for reliability with many critical internal parts made of plastic. The GM diesel might be good but again the praise is for the specs.

You want a high Torque engine at a lower RPM. For towing and fuel economy. So that GM in line 6. Is a great economical work engine. Notice the GM pickup is not built for speed. Just low end power.
