can I have banana plugs on the end that goes into the speakers but regular open wire on the end that goes into my receiver? i don't have binding posts on my receiver

I did everything correctly but my left Speaker is distorting for some reason even tho they are new.
I tried switching the cables but nothing changes, the right one is sounding pretty good.
I didn't drive the sound to much.
Could it be that my left one is blown up even tho it's not used yet ?

The instructions recomend spade connectors for the amp but speakers can only take the Bannana plugs

question is all i need for a surround sound setup is banana cables surround sound speakers and an AVR correct im assuming the AVR wodul connect into my pc and then i plug the banana cables into the surround sound speakers and run them into the AVR im assuming this is all right if anyone knows pls respond. also im not sure if its called an AV receiver or an AVR whitch one is it? that you connect your speakers to?.

Dude you saved my ass on some speakers I just bought. I got a Yamaha RX-V575 Receiver for Christmas last year. Haven't used it once and decided to break it in. And was having a hell of a time trying to work out the wires. People do yourself a favor and spend the money on the monster cables. So much easier to use. You earned a sub my man!

I have a cheap Yamaha active sub with a single RCA input. My amp has no RCA sub output, but it does have a subwoofer speaker input. If I buy an RCA to speaker wire adapter, will I be able to hook up my sub using banana plugs?
