Would running Ubuntu on a Pi 3B+ work the same way to retrieve roms out of Retro Pi?

Thank you so much for this. I assumed it wasn't possible to just copy the files like that from the SD image.

Thanks a ton man! your vid helped me out so m,uch i was about to puyll my hair out because i couldent get my roms! I had bought on of those pre made retropie images with all the roms pre installed on ebay a while back. I had used the image in a rasberry pi 3 for the longest time. Well when i got back into pc gaming, i installed some emulators right? well i had a hard time sourcing roms becuase my internet sucks :( but then i remembered the premade image i bought was loaded with roms! Just when i thought i was saved, i relaized i couldent open linux files with my windows 10 install. Thankfuly you showed me the proper way to copy those roms. i wish you and your family a lifetime of good luck!

Hi, great video - I had done similar as others using Windows because the Damaso image did not boot my Pi400.

Do you know how I can also copy the themes and other customisations that these slick Damaso builds have and not just the ROMS? Right now I have a new Retropie with the ROMS, but looking very pale!

Cheers :-)

Really hoping this works on my retrocade sd card. Their os is awful, super Mario World music keeps playing on every game. That's 1 of many examples of how shite it is.

Could I just simply copy the roms and bios folders over? Sorry for all the questions, trying to get my pi up and running ready to go in my cabinet

This is what I'm looking for. I thought there would be a tool to do that, to extract individual roms directly from image like winzip/winrar. Great tips to get around it. Thanks,

Does it work the other way adding roms back into damaso build? As long you have enough disk space?

There is a tool added to online tool kit that will turn bezels off but at the same time make a back up so the user can experience better performance when there off. If you want to restore then back from backup you can do this from the same tool 👍 this tool is no way competition towards bezel project just a extra feature for those that want to keep there bezels but have them off.

Does anyone know if an .img reader program exists, so you don’t have to flash it to a microSD card?
