Hollow rock symbol of fortune in movie Parasite can be key holder bought from ebay. Not everyone is stupid put key under door mat :) Maybe is Spaceballs code from glass firmament is 12345.
ОтветитьJust seen this again yesterday and it’s still a masterpiece.
ОтветитьGuessed this had nothing to do with the anime and being right isn't always best
ОтветитьIt’s a shame that so many people are deterred by subtitles. It’s like they almost need to make an English version. I’m glad I watched this film.
Ответитьi know the ending is probably a fantasy and the credits song kinda explains what happens instead but I hate sad/ambiguous endings so im gonna say that the ending is real and they were able to live happily together (although im really sad that the sister actually died cuz I liked her character and its really depressing that she wont be able to join her family in living their dream)
ОтветитьI love how they foreshadowed the light. When the mom was talking to Jessica the light for the stair way seemingly turns off by itself
Ответитьpeaches are fucking disgusting
Ответитьafter a few watches now i feel it just makes the parks seem cool as hell. sucks for the kims
ОтветитьThe stairs are blocked when ki-taek is going out to meet his son
ОтветитьMista kim
ОтветитьOh no, the pizza company is a much harsher mirror of reality: the company has the money for staff, it could easily afford them, but the powers that be just rather pay that money to themselves and otherwise try their darnedest to suck their lowest employees and pseudo-employees dry.
Ответитьyou could even say that the rock statuette has a staircase-like structure to it
Ответить한국어로 번역까지 해주시고 너무 감사합니다. 잘 보겠습니다.🙂🙂🙂
ОтветитьExcellent analysis brub. I honestly pity the people who don't want to read subtitles, they're missing on a lot of great movies like this.
I just wish Ki-Jung didn't die :(
This movie was absolutely amazing! Loved to learn more about some small details I missed, like the number of chairs changing.
One thing that really struck me are the themes of togetherness and being apart in the movie. The poor family is almost always together. In their small home, going out to eat together, getting a job together and even when the Parks are away and they are in their house you see them coming together again. Meanwhile the Parks mostly seem to live very seperate lives. They are hardly in the same room as each other and that only seems to change once they employ the poor family.
You also see it all fall apart for the poor family when they all split up during the birthday party and final scenes. They are all physically and mentally in different places. The father seems to have made up his mind that he will kill the people in the basement. Meanwhile the mother who actually killed the women by kicking down the stairs thinks everyone was overreacting and maybe they can talk it all out today.
Can the father even survive alone in the basement ? There’s no one having access to give him some food 😢
ОтветитьI'd say why there is no definitive bad guy in this movie is that at times we all are bad. We all can be parasites. We all are parasites. On each other. On the world. On each other's WIFI.
Also the toilet up a stairway kind of means shit flows downhill. It flows downhill no matter the class. We all shit on those "lower" than us. Imo.
Every person in that movie is a parasite.
ОтветитьOmg the "hollow rock", I didn't know what...it changes my perspective now...thank you for telling us
ОтветитьThe question left unanswered though is when they all went into the basement and first discovered the lady’s husband, why was her face cut and beaten up? Was it because it was hard to cut the security cameras or did something else happen? I’m deeply confused about that part.
ОтветитьI love how this movie explored a different side of an overused topic (rich vs poor). We've seen so many films that cover the black & white, such as the evil corrupted rich taking advantage of the poor. While that's a sad truth, it's only a portion of the real power dynamic in our society. We often overlook how the poor is always fighting with each other when they could be pulling their heads together and help each other. We see so many examples through everyday crime news (all the hate crimes, neighborhood crimes, small business/convenience store robbery).
The reality is, most middle-elite class in modern society are just minding their own business. Sure, there's a portion of rich people who are truly evil. But really, the rest of them simply don't give a shit about what's going down in the lower class community. Their main interest is on which company they should invest on next. That means they also have no business in directly harming the poor. At the same time, they casually look down on the poor people living in the same city while also casually donating money to Unicef.
I watched this film for the first time since it's premiere, and i actually appreciated the way the "parasitic" family grifted the wealthy family in the first half of the movie esp yhe part where they set up the houskeeper as having TB - i actually clapped when the father took the Kleenex out of the bin after putting ketchup on it,and showing the lady of the house - her face...thought she was going to faint- piceless. But funnily the removal of the housekeeper leads to the real "parasitic" behaviour being shown, this film deserved its zOscar imo.
ОтветитьOn an upbeat note, Id like to think that the reason the rock doesn't float at the end is because, unlike previous hollow promises, symbolised by the rock which floated, the promise that he makes to buy the house is truly meant and that is why the rock is real in that scene
ОтветитьYou referred to the Kim family as parasites, but you're missing the point of the film and the name - asking us whether it is the Kims or the Parks who are the real parasites. The Kims do indeed parasite off free wifi and the Park family through their scheme, but the Parks parasite off the labour of the Kim family and thousands of other people and families (and face zero consequences for it)
ОтветитьThe thing is that all members of the family have the qualifications and skills for those jobs but they don't have a "diploma", "status" to actually access those jobs because that's all people care about, they only care about papers and "connections". Even having a diploma or certification is not enough, they still need the "connection recommendation".
Ответитьhoyya hoyya
Ответитьwhy can't we see the secret episode bc i want to see the guy with red hair plz and that old guy is gonna be dead bc he ate to much carrots hahahahahahahaahahhahahhahahahahahahahahaha
ОтветитьThey were all parasytes and Rich wife is the bigest one. If she had done all the house chores she would not need peoples help
ОтветитьGreat analysis.
ОтветитьThanks for the video! I haven't realized about the ending song and the rock!
ОтветитьDo a review of Cosmos on Amazon prime. Would love to see your view on it.
ОтветитьAnother great video, thanks for sharing
ОтветитьParasite was pretty good.
ОтветитьThis is best best review ever, now I can watch this movie from a very different perspective.
ОтветитьThis movie is great. I should rewatch it now.
ОтветитьOne of the best films I have ever watched! It was just that amazing!
ОтветитьThere's also the parasitic nature of how South Korea latches onto the United States of America. The constant America-worship and even the whole cultural appropriate of Native American culture is all a reflection of how Americans are viewed as the ultimate upper-class citizens. Like this whole thing wouldn't/couldn't have even started if it weren't for the daughter faking her ability to get kids into elite American schools. And if you continue down the path of using height and depth as an analogy of socioeconomic class - then in order to get to the USA from South Korea, you need to get on a plane - which well you know means you get to an even higher "plane".
The constant America-worship is the whole reason this scam worked in the first place and thus is a reflection of the toxic socioeconomic reality of South Korea.
The rich wife calls the rain a blessing because it clears the air from the yellow dust from china and other air pollution. Not because they come back from camping.
Ответитьsomeone tell me best Korean movies and series, i've only seen parasite and squid games.
ОтветитьRESPECT!!!!
ОтветитьCan you do a Breakdown of Netflix's My Name (undercover) ???
ОтветитьI'm a big fan of Bong Joon-ho films from recent years. Loved parasite and watched sooo many 'what you missed' videos after watching the movie BUT STILL you added new information I haven't seen in other videos. Thanks for always being so thorough!
ОтветитьMaybe the parasites the whole time were actually the fiends we made along the way.
Ответить@Heavy Spoilers
Great video Paul! You nailed all the key details like the “free extermination” fumigation scene that foreshadowed who the parasites would be. I’m really hoping that this review will lead you to review Bong Joon Ho‘s other classics The Host and Snowpiercer.
