Subaru X-Mode Test

I have a 2018 subaru limited, I forged a stream that had a foot of mood using x-mode. The stream was in a little ravine. The subaru worked great and did not get stuck :)

My driveway in super flat CT was gnarlier then that and I made it up and down at twice that speed in a 2002 bmw 328 convertible. I’ve got a 2016 Outback limited and barrel through little blips like this. This dude is a tool, making a Mediocre off-road vehicle look like total garbage

What i don't understand is why all this technology is needed. I have a 20 year old truck with a factory limited slip rearend and limited slip yukon frontend. I often go around Subarus here in boone nc. Sometimes i have to leave the road to get around them. I am not saying they don't have the best 4 wheel/ all wheel drive system for a car but what i notice is the old ones like the 90s GL never get stuck and go as well as my old truck. They didn't have all the computers and did great.

My Honda Element has done harder trails while in limp mode from a busted VTEC solenoid. Seriously you did Subaru a disservice with this one.

You said you were going to demo wheel slip. also you implied that you would do it without traction control. And finally I took a Kia sedona up a worse hill.

I am not sure why this is titled as a test. I would recommend adding a trial where x-mode is deactivated.

I noticed the new car windshield sticker was still on the Forester as the driver was putting XMode to the test in an off-roading situation, and then he brought it back to the dealer lot to be sold to someone as a new car. I hope the final buyer of that one car got an off-road demo car discount

Give this guy a break. It is probably the first time in his life he ever got off the pavement. Obviously he has zero experience off road. I can hear the old hard core Jeep people laughing their heads off. That road he was climbing was soo tame as to look like a paved runway compared to a real jeep trail. That being said I think a Subaru with some decent tires could do pretty good on a real off road trail but it isn't going to really compete with a jeep fitted out with lockers.

Sincerely, back in Africa this terrain is not close to what we call off-road or safari trip. This kind is even easily maneuvered using saloon cars in every day to day life. In addition, you performed quite unprofessionally, your video review did total injustice to Subaru, you neither demonstrated the uphill nor descent handling of this x-mode feature. Very disappointing and unconvincing review. Pardon me for being blatant.

Ah come on guys, I’m sure the dealership barely let him take the car out to test it. Give him some credit for his passion to go above and beyond for Subaru . Great video .

My 2015 outback has xmode and it has bigger balls than what you are showing! Like alot of these other guys are saying, Put it to a real test! And Really show off what it can do! I Live in PA and we have nasty mud, snow, dirt, clay and the Subaru takes it like a champ

This video did nothing to show what a subaru forester is capable of haha, I have done far more sketchy and steep mountain back road climbs and descents with my 2013 forester and it doesn't even have X mode. The driver was too hesitant and slow to really demonstrate this as well. Even a 2 wheel drive car could have done what was shown in this video.
