ОтветитьThis reminds me of 50's Rock or possibly swing music.... although I don't think any musician in that time period used that type of language.
ОтветитьFinally, real "Rock N Roll".....................
ОтветитьFuck yeah man, I've been into swing, rockabilly and blues since I was 14 and losing my mind to Black flag, NOFX and Bad Religion is brutal, check out some Psycobilly its where Rockabilly and punk kinda melt together.

ОтветитьAdvancing age, resulting in a receding hair line, put paid to my dreams of a quiff...
Ответить@ahmrahtcheer psychobilly was going before Stick Men With Ray Guns formed. In the UK we was listening to what would be called psychobilly by 1980. We had Punk and and Rockabilly running side by side, and youngsters of the time blended the two together, and it happened to be the Meteors who went global with it in 1980 - 81. In 79 I had a massive flat top with quiff, bleached white with pink quiff, bleached pegged jeans and doc martins.
Ответить@ahmrahtcheer thank you i thought i was just being immature for being 32 and still sporting a mo hawk .
ОтветитьThis is such a cool song
Ответитьso talent!
ОтветитьTHIS IS FREAKING GREEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAATT *dances*
Ответить@bruceok Good thing you said that 2 years ago...
Ответить@ahmrahtcheer Interesting. I was born in Little Rock Ark. and spent my formative years there. Some of my earliest memories are of music on the radio. Lots of Elvis Patsy Cline and regional rockabilly. Being just a hundred miles from Memphis I heard Elvis before he became a national phenom. Everly Bros, Eddie Cochran, gene Vincent were all part of my childhood. I didn't really pay attention to what the music was called, I just thought it was music.
ОтветитьI came into rockabilly from two directions: from being old enough to remember (vaguely) Eddie Cochran and others and via my experience as a punk, '77-84. In Dallas, punks and rockabilly fans got along well, with the bands sharing venues. A local band, Stick Men With Ray Guns, fronted by Bobby Soxx, used to play what he called sockabilly, a predecessor to psychobilly, then I discovered Reverend Horton Heat in the late 80s. Now mid-50s, I'm still punk/rockabilly, mohawk and all.
Ответить@ahmrahtcheer With the state of the music industry today I'm glad she's around now. I would really like to see more swing/ torch/ jazz singers today. And thanks for the recommendations. I enjoyed them.
Ответить@mdugand Colleen Duffy simply has the sexiest, most sultry voice I've ever heard. She should have been born 60 years earlier, to catch the crest of swing/torch.
Ответить@ahmrahtcheer Familiar with Wanda. My brother played guitar with Levi Dexter after the rockkats broke up so I've been through my rockabilly phase. What I like about DD is the variety of music she plays. Love the smokey sultry sound.
ОтветитьImelda May brought me here and Jeff Beck took me to Imelda. So the old guys are good for something. This chick is brilliant. Very carefully crafted image and extremely witty lyrics. She should be a household name.
ОтветитьThe best song!!! I loveee this :3
ОтветитьThe movie call "New Best Friend" brought me here! :)
