Staples Hyken Ergonomic Mesh Chair | STOP BUYING GAMING CHAIRS (2021)

I bought that chair the lumbar killed my back..

I just bought the Hyken and Staples had it on sale for $179.99. I bought it w/o hesitation. What I like about it? It's mesh so it's cool in the summertime. The recline function can be set in a position that you choose. It has a headrest also mesh that I like.

Chairs are too tiny for me at 6'2 240

I broke a racing chair and a random office chair from Staples.
My back hurts too much to the game due to using a kitchen chair all wood.

Do you have any suggestions for me? I have $300 or fewer budget.

20" of height seems short for my desk, so maybe 25" or greater would be perfect

I have a nice looking IKEA chair lol that hurts my back from slouching back to play COD. I just picked up the staples brand Emerge Vartan and it reclines. I haven't opened box yet but sat in it for a hour in the store. It leans back and seems better than the IKEA, paid $150 price match online, they list it for $329... I sat in a mesh that felt comfortable but difficult recline feature

All racing style gaming chairs are garbage, even the "high-end" ones.

You can raise and lower the headrest. If you look closely, it has a channel to move in. It's very stiff at first, but once you move it a few times it loosens up.

Real talk. Gaming chairs are fine. If you get a shitty/off brand one, you get what you pay for just like anything else. With that said, ergo chairs are nice, but same thing. Legit the only people I have ever seen complain about their gaming chair, bought an off brand one, or one that wasn't their size and just thought it looked cool. Secret labs, dx racer are the best ones, just research and make sure you get the right one if you still want one. Don't cheap out.

my front foam is slipping out.... any ideas

I had that mesh chair from Staples for 7 years and loved it. I did remove the arm rests so I could play guitar on it. The piston went bad and someone wisely snatched it from my alley when I threw it out. I should have just gotten a new piston in retrospect. I got a cheap Staples fabric task chair that kills my butt. I wish I never threw it away.

Also, don't forget the Staples Dexley chair. Similar to the Staples Hyken but a little bigger.

Can the armrest be removed?

Are you sure you didn't just turn the tension knob the wrong way? On my chair the max tension is definitely noticeably harder to move.

Nailed it when talking about height. I'm 6'1 and decided to check out this chair: in my case the headrest is definitely more of a neck rest than anything.

My cat loves to sit on my chair and occasionally dig it’s nails for a stretch. Will the mesh on the Hyken be durable enough for pets?

I have a gaming chair I've had for two years never again will I buy another one. I have back problems ever since. Never had one when I had an office chair.

I liked the first Hyken so much, a couple years into it I just bought a second one. Most comfortable chair I ever had. It lasts without damage (strong mesh that doesn't get stretched) and I can sit in it all day long. Highly ergonomic. Love the lower back support that digs in right in the "spot" to keep it relaxed. Never will I buy a typical gaming chair again. --- These chairs are on display in every Staples so those interested, go sit in one. [you don't have to put the headrest on if you don't want it]

Edit 8/30: i got the staples dexlyn chair and it homestly was the best choice. Lumbar dupport and headrest (both adjustable) and nice for long sitting!

The lumbar support on this chair is killing my lower back. It digs into your lower back like no tomorrow.

Picked this up for 150 and dumped my gaming chair! Thanks!
