pão de ló is also famous in Brazil!! and it is delicious! you can try it with a thin layer of melted chocolate too, and put some vanilla extract in the batter

In Portugal, we have "Pão de Ló de Ovar" too, it's Like "pão de Ló" but it's adds a ton of egg cream (it's SO GOOD)

German here. Kalter hund is not really a cake you see often. Sometimes on kids birthday parties (and no, i dont know of any version of this cake with rum... Its a gooddam kids cake...), But not often. We have lots of other cakes which you will see regularly, like Streuselkuchen - a cake with crunchy bits on top, often with fruits.

Turkey's cake is not quite right, it's just not that popular. Mozaik/piramit pasta, a variation on Germany's, is far more popular, made with mixing together crushed petit beurre biscuits and chocolate pudding (and nuts, orange zest, etc.) and freezing in a mold. Hell, even Morocco's orange cake is more common and popular here, basically the cake your mum bakes by default.
