Mgs needs a series, too much story for a movie

I think a game like MGS with such a deep story could benefit from a similar approach to The Last of Us series.

Wyatt Russel should be Snake. Remember his father Kurt played snake pliskin in escape from New York. HUGE influence on solid snake’s appearance. With Wyatt maybe as young snake could have Kurt Russell as big boss or something. Just perfect. May not need Kurt but I will say Wyatt would be cool option again since his father had influence on Solid snake.

This movie is never getting made, the director Jordan Vogt Roberts doesn't even have a script and its been in development since 2017. Thats a bad sign, apart from sharing some concept art. He doesn't have a fundemental idea of how to make it. The games are too long and expansive to fit in the 3 act structure of a movie anyway.

The fact it can't get off the ground should tell them something. If you must do something with the IP take the lead of capcom and make some animated movies in the universe with the characters. I thought we were getting some steam when Oscar Isaac was attached, but him leaving just cements the failure. BTW Ubisoft have been in the same predicament with Splinter Cell, in 2016 Tom Hardy was attached to play Sam Fisher that ended up a dead production. Games don't work well as movies.
