I cant even download 4 of these map because of how fucking bloated this game is to the PS4 harddrive

Gen 2 in A-Tier ?! Genesis 2 is not Ark... fuck it

So I only played official and Iblived on Genises 1 for 2 years. That map will always be my #1.

AB is clearly the best. I would put Gen 1 at no2 tho, it has the best boss fight and no flying made pvp extreamly fun for the first 6 weeks untill server transfers.

Instant dislike when I seen the places of the island and Ragnarok. Disgusting list

As someone who started playing with my friends in Fjordur, then switched to Gen 2 after we all take a break, I hate gen2 with a passion. Sure it came out with extremely good creatures to tame and the space biome is amazing. But the map just seemed so plain. There was not alot to explore

I only just recently started going to different maps and so far my favourite in terms of design and music has to be extinction. It's so much fun to play on and I love the massive eco-dome things around red and blue obelisk that are just stunning to look at and be inside. I also love how the city looks, and the scale of it is amazing. And the main theme for it is one of the greatest pieces of music I have listened to. I still have to go on the center, aberration, scorched earth and genesis 1 & 2, but I don't think any can top extinction

Fjordur and Aberration are definitely my 2 favorites. I love norse mythology and viking history and there are lots of amazing creatures.
I love aberration because I love apocalypses and having creatures like light pets, karkinos, reapers, rock drakes, roll rats, aberant dinos like Megalosaurus especially is just amazing....

I have such a hard time picking between Abberation or Fjordur as my main base location. Maybe Fjordur since i havent fully explored the map yet or have done the alpha boss fight but all the best build spots are taken up.

No wonder your channel isn't big. You put Aberration as an S tier but Valguero as B? Clearly, you do not know the ark community well.

Totally disagree, Gen1 is best map of all times

In defence of Genesis, you can't tell me the biomes aren't breathtaking. Most of them are the best in their class. While the creature count is lacking, the few that are their are well crafted and made with quality, which was a breath of fresh air after extinction. The biomes being seperate allows you to completely emerse your self into the one your in. Plus X dino variety? Top that up with missions to occupy your time and make pve more enjoyable, and an amazing boss fight that's more complex than walking into a boss with 18 boosted Rex's

genesis two is awful im sorry. maewing and net guns have ruined pvp. genesis is better than bottom too, maybe mid tier. valguero and rag top

Gen 2 is the worst imo, it completely broke the game and it's not even that fun

I see a lot of people complimenting aberration and sure, it’s pretty dang cool.. however, you can’t have an S tier map without having an aberrant area.. therefore aberration just doesn’t have enough variety to be S tier for me

I’d say the island is easily A tier for not only being the beginning, It is also one of the most useful maps on pvp for the note run, And also is a very well made map, It’s quite balanced, The thing keeping it out of S is the smaller size and levels, But the run is always progression never getting stuck like in some maps, Finally it is by far the best map for a new player to start on
One more thing, You literally can’t use a tek suit on GEN1

S-tier good or bad???

S TIER- ab, lost, gen 2, fjordur

A TIER- rag, crystal isles, extinction

B TIER- val, center

C TIER- island, scorched

D TIER- gen 1 duh

Almost the same but ragnarok goes to A tier, just because wildcard added lost island at least for me lost island is better than ragnarok plus lost island has almost all dinos almost, still u cant get enough of ragnarok the old king of free maps. My favorite map its ab beautiful map ,challenging also, love the way u gotta get loot, rock drakes karkinos reapers just beautiful and the shoulder pet overall the king ok ark at least for me. Gen 2 goes to S tier mu fav mounta are maewing the fastest i think, shadowmanes love them also they are the best bossfight mounts and its a beautiful map. And finally fjordur gotta go to S tier love the bosses the caves the dimensions just a fun map man so yeah worst map for me is gen 1 sorry

My top three maps are Rag, Valguero, and Abberation. And The Center is a D tier map to me, especially since it's been neglected the last few years and a lot of people make the map seem better than it is. It's just boring to me.

Valguero is still number one map in every aspect today lol. And ive been to any map to say that. Even not that laggy than other maps. Yes i know, it is a top tier becasue of an official pve, not a singleplayer gameplay. For singleplayer, go whatever map you actually like- does not matter! Valguero is the ruling champion, even if you compare it to Fjordur. Why becasue Fjordur is also very laggy. S ier maps you pointed out, are actually S tier for singleplayer, but for official multy Ragnarok for example causes too many disconnections- unstable that is not an S tier for multiplayer! Aberration got a one big problem for offcial pve- you can not use flyers, but at least you can use gliders that are sometimes clunky to manoveur- something that can lead you to your death.

watching this because i can’t decide if i want to stay on one map forever or do all the story maps

What kills the island for me tbh is the dino levels being so messed up, having to constantly wipe or go on dino killing sprees to spawn high level ones in order to start breeding and doing bosses etc, breeding perfect dinos is already pretty time consuming and this adds more to it.

As a 2016 Ark player Scorched Earth Island and Center in C tier hurts my soul

Val is an all around Goated map one of my favorites ever, not a huge fan of aberration but everything else i can get behind

I still dont get the realm thing on fjordur. Arent all the realms on the same map? Just different Islands

I think aberration is peak. Such a weird and colorful environment. It felt the most like ark

I play the island all the time but I keep on quitting and starting over so I like it where it’s at or lower tbh also genesis should have a space between the others cause it’s so bad I love the creatures but that’s it.

Aberration is good because it completely changed traditional ark after playing the island with argentavis anklyo metal grinding it was a definitely a fresh start,lost island's forests makes me lag like heck for me and fjordur is my fav has a lot of creatures beautiful biome and new bosses,truly magnificent.

The tech part of ark is my favorite

Crystal Isles isn't B tier Imo it is to big with not enough to do and surprisingly little stuff to explore...
Once you tame yourself some Crystal wyverns and then kill the Wyvern Queen you're literally out of unique stuff to do on the map. (You can get a Tropeo from Fjordor as well)

My friends and I just moved server from CI to Fjordur for that reason.
So C tier imo

Genisis is S

Scorched earth is the best map. It's the only map that you can tame a lvl 150 anky as your first tame, super cool, wyverns, rock elementals. It is hard in the start, gets easier over time and becomes hard again when finding your first wyvern egg, and gets easier again. Best early game, okay midgame and nice lategame, it's here to show that boomerang is the most op weapon in ark, high torpor low lvl engram and low cost

I was surprised to see i mostly agree with your list! Island i would put at the top of B tier as i love the design and it works so well as a starting map. Scorched is C tier for me because it just feels empty like you said. Center is underrated in my opinion so i was happy to see it at the top of C tier, great caves, good design, and looks amazing. Ragnarok is easy S tier, never played it but the videos are enough for S tier. Aberration is at the top of S tier for me, i love everything about it, looks gorgeous, great dinos, great design, and i love the no flyers thing which makes it so unique. Extinction is A tier for me, i love it’s progression and boss fight and i’m a big fan of tek so that’s a big reason too. Valguero is B tier, i like how there is no surrounding ocean and the wandering broodmother is a nice challenge, but it’s just not as good as other maps in my opinion. Gen1 is C tier, nice concept, but executed poorly. I wish the map was connected properly instead of the teleporting and the missions are good, but there’s just so many of them and a lot aren’t even possible solo which brings it down massively for me, everything else is great though, i love the new dinos and the biomes themselves look great. Crystal isles is B tier just under the island, i like the new biomes and dinos but it just feels a bit… empty, the boss fight is great but the artifacts are just in the open which means no cave challenge either, but the good parts are enough for B tier. Gen2 is top of A tier, great design, great dinos, i love the tek but it does take virtually all the challenge of early game away which brings it down for me, still, great map, i also love the boss and the missions are actually fun now which is a huge plus. Lost island is S tier, like you said it’s like ragnarok+ and the new dinos are amazing, boss is hard but enjoyable and the map itself is amazing. Fjordur is easy S tier. It’s the best map in ark in my opinion, it just has everything, map design is incredible and doesn’t feel empty at all, progression system is amazing too and the realms are great. Not sure if i like fjordur or aberration more so both are S tier.

I like aberration the most, but crystal isle is the worst. I like the creatures and there is less grinding, but the lag in the map is unplayable. And I have a ps5. Definitely the floating islands make crystal isles a slide show.
