Let us be honest, 2023 and I am still devastated!
ОтветитьThis was such a heartbreaking death. I adored Sybil and she was so sweet and probably the most beautiful souled of the Sisters. I cried like a little kid watching her take her last breath and everyone helpless to do anything for her. Really it was pride that killed her. Pride of one doctor not conceding to another and her Father's pride as well.
ОтветитьSo sad
ОтветитьThe acting in this scene was so realistic and it made me really dislike Robert.
ОтветитьYeah we won’t get a show like this again. Amazing.
ОтветитьThe reality is that so many women died in childbirth (or shortly after) 100 years ago. We should be glad of modern medicine. 😥
ОтветитьSooooo let a man make the decision. Ans and i guess they learned a lesson didn't they.
ОтветитьMy sister had preeclampsia and was admitted to the hospital for several weeks. It’s very frightening.
ОтветитьFor her parents, siblings, husband and brother in law to all be there and powerless to help her, capable of nothing more than watching her die just shows how unpredictable and fragile life is.
ОтветитьIf I were Cora, I do not think I could forgive Robert. Ego and rank over trust…nope.
Ответитьthe true power, meaning and beauty of cinema captured in one scene. As a 35 year old brown man from the east, I have nothing in common with these people. Not their wealth, manners, culture, personality or religion. Yet, this scene broke me into a thousand pieces like no scene has ever done before. Their pain goes through the marrow and bone. I have cried like a child and been depressed for days as if I have lost a dear family member. I hope that I will be spared the pain of one day seeing my child die in front of me, because there is no pain I can think of that is greater than that. This show deserves all the praise and appreciation it gets.
ОтветитьThat last scene with violet….🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
ОтветитьShe was my favorite character. I never looked at the show the same way again
ОтветитьMy grandmother Cedulie Henry died at 41 in 1925 of tuberculosis. Left my grandmother's with 6 childs And the mother of my grandmother Adelard Audet, Léocadie died at 29 like a Sibil after the seventh child, born in 1887 , the baby died 1 months After., Adelard my grandmother's had 2 years old...
ОтветитьThis felt so personal
ОтветитьI cannot forgive Branson's cowardly indecision in deciding the correct medical procedure for Sybil's birth problem. He leaned towards hospitalization. But that Irish coward failed to take control
ОтветитьEverytime I watch this part, I can’t stop myself from crying even though I know it’s a drama but it’s probably because I know the pain we share as humans
ОтветитьPoor Mathew The way he clamped on to the pole as if all the hope and kindness in that family had just been thrown out the window... Really to bad /:
ОтветитьThe first time I saw this scene in the episode my mouth hanging open for like six minutes. I couldn’t believe what was happening. It was cruel how fast they killed her off.
ОтветитьDammit! I was holding it together so well until Maggie Smith came in
ОтветитьTerrifying!
ОтветитьMag Sulfate IV; stat...
ОтветитьThis was the first time that the dowager actually seemed old.
ОтветитьI was 18 when I first saw this episode, and this moment was devastating.
This was the most violent, most shocking deaths I’ve seen on television. One minute you think all is gonna be okay now that the birth part has passed. And then suddenly, everything was not alright. And knowing that the convulsing couldn’t be stopped once it started and the reactions of the family, the looks of horror, and then hearing the baby in the other room were just heartbreaking.
I watched this scene in absolute horror, it really affected me! Tom begging her not to leave him just ripped my heart out! All the characters acting here was superb!
ОтветитьMaggie Smith .. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ответить“A woman of my age can face reality far better than most men.” 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
ОтветитьEasily the most heartbreaking moment… This is even harder than Matthew’s death man.
ОтветитьI was watching Downton as usual. In my bed, comfortable and then out of nowhere this happened and it is 2023 and I am still scarred.
ОтветитьProtien in the urine
HOLD! ✋️
Spoilerish title. Maybe change it. I remember being devastated when I was not caught up on the show, I clicked on an article about Michelle Dockery, and without any spoiler alerts (spoiler alert on what I'm about to say next, obviously), they described her as "playing Matthew Crawley's widow on Downton Abbey."
ОтветитьDame Maggie Smith is absolutely singular in this scene. What's more, the brief swell of music as she lifts the veil from her face underscores the grief everyone is feeling. She represents the tenderness and solidarity of the moment so well.
ОтветитьThe sad thing is, many mothers still suffer from this today. There’s really nothing you can do, unless you spot it beforehand.
ОтветитьI will never ever forgive the Downton writers for this.
ОтветитьWhen Sybil died it broke my heart.
ОтветитьDid no one knew the saying “Better safe, than sorry?”
ОтветитьThe doctor showing no remorse AT ALL 😒
ОтветитьOkay I know absolutely nothing about this show
ОтветитьGotta be that one in a million :)
ОтветитьI think we should’ve seen this coming I mean she was a very like able character and she was pregnant in the 1920s you know how many people died back then when they gave birth? A lot
ОтветитьAfter the seizure ended, why wasn't CPR administered or even suggested by the doctors? I guess in them days it was relatively new practice but the time her heart stopped and stopped breathing, surely at that time they could have been revived.
ОтветитьPuts me in tears every time😢😢😢
ОтветитьI almost died of eclamsia ... thanks to modern medecin I'm still here and my son is now 9 years odl, but waching this always breaks my heart knowing I might have ended up like Sybill
ОтветитьI wish people would have given Robert a harder time for not being able to let go of his bloody ego to save his daughters life. He and this awful doctor Philipp killed sybil
ОтветитьI don’t know why but the part that always yanks the tears out of my eyes is the moment with the servants showing their grief and Carson saying “carry on daisy, as we all must”
My gosh so gut wrenching and beautiful at the same time that they all loved her so much and she touched them all in a special way 🥹
They didn't show her outing in society, they didn't show her wedding, they didn't show her living in Ireland... They didn't show her funeral.
Such disregard demonstrated towards the most well written character in the series.
Is this an edited version? I watched this when it came out and I feel there was al lot more screaming and thrashing in the original version before Sybil's death.
