What a gem of a film!!! First time watching Megamind movie reaction

One of my favorite superhero movies, only The Incredibles is comparable. Better than the MCU or DCEU.

it's so important when men address wrong things that other man do, I'm thankful you guys talked about the nice guy syndrome with sincerity

I'm surprised he didn't figure out the space stepmom thing sooner since you know there's a reason that it's called space stepmom it meant that there was an actual mom so either one or two things happen one the mom died or two you can figure out the rest.

From personal experience, the guys who pretend to be nice to suck you in are always the most spiteful when you turn them down. Real nice guys are definitely my type though!

I like how they represent both sides of the nice guy. Hall is the "nice guy" and Metroman is an actual nice guy. Having the shortcomming of both sides really impressed me since one was too nice not to save people and the other was too delusional to notice he was not really being nice.

Fun fact: In the scene at the beginning with the two giant screens if you pause at the right moment you can see Metroman standing behind Megamind like how he did in his flashback.

I remember watching Megamind at the cinema when I was 9 years old, I went with my mother's friend with her son who was 5 years old. He got stressed in the middle of the film because he wasn't enjoying it. I didn't understand why. The movie is very good. But now I understand. This film is for older children. And many adults must not have been interested in watching it in theaters, because they summarized Megamind as a children's film.\

This movie just get better every time I watch

I have yet to meet someone who dislikes this movie. It's crazy how much factors into a movie's success or failure outside of just it's quality.

For some reason, my favorite line is when MM as Space Dad looks over at Minion as Space Stepmom for the first time and says "Oh, you look fabulous." without a hint of irony or sarcasm. Talk about ride or die...

I love how appleto started as someone who said that he sees harry potter as a kids movie to someone who just draws the deathly hallows everywhere he can 😂😂😂

The sad thing about this movie is that it didnt do as good in the box office as most other animated films at the time because the movie was directly competing with despicable me which did so well that it made illumination the company it is today, for better or for worse. It would have done so much better post endgame and a sequal might just not come because it came out at a bad time. I hope im wrong, but at the same time, the incredibles 2 took 14 years after the original to come out and it showed that pixar forgot why people liked the original in the first place, megamind is close to its 14 year anniversary, if im wrong, i hope lightning doesnt strike twice in the same place.

About the "picking the bad guy" conversation, I know a couple friends who replaced a nice girl for some popular fiery type who would сuсk them left and right, it's sad but I think in society as a whole the best "players", those who always get they want, aren't necessarily the best people

The original script was a live-action movie with a lot of fart jokes, "because that was more mature."

Despicable Me opened a few months before Megamind and the minions took off in popularity with young kids and families.

So, when Megamind came out, people didn’t give it a fair shot, because why would the go see another story about an endearing villain. Not knowing how different it actually was.

Such a shame.

Simply put, one of the best superhero movies ever made!

My favorite spot is the part with Megamind coming back and saying Titan is a villain alright, just not a super one and that it comes down to "Presentation!!" It's so true too. More often than not, super villains are over the top, which Titan was not, other than being terribly destructive.

I was a bargain bin kid so I watched all the good movies. Thank god for that bin or who knows when I would’ve seen Iron Giant for the first time.

You know it’s a good animated movie when it’s hard to notice who the famous voice actors are even though there in everything.

I wish it was Megamind that blew up in popularity instead of Despicable Me even though I also enjoy it

One of my fav, it is a 5. But I dont trust the would be able to do a good sequel, so I prefer if they dont. Btw, I think it didnt do well because Despicable Me was released close in time to this.

They actually couldn't have picked a better actor to play the nice guy, since Jonah Hill is one in reality too...

"Loving You" was a song written and performef in 1974 by ichmond, and performed by Minny Riperton. Though I think the song played in the film is a cover by Olivia Newton John.

The thing that killed this movie’s popularity was Despicable Me dropping around the same time which is just a worse version of this movie.

I love this movie

I heard Megamind had to compete with Despicable me (which is is aimed to smaller kids imo, had the insufferable minions, and had superficially similar premises: supervillain learns to be good). I don't know how true that is but it might have influenced the box office drop.
I initially refused to see this movie because of a poster (the characters looked odd), I later watched it and loved it. Megamind remains one of my favorite movies since then ❣

I love this movie so much and I am so happy more and more people are turning their eyes toward it. The music slaps and is used so well throughout the movie, it's just pure joy.
