My video is 22 minutes long; I render it as an MP4 format, when I open the rendered video, it looks as if it render the whole thing because the video length shows 22 minutes. However, it stopped at the 9-minute mark. I tried unticking the "Stop renders when a frame or clip cannot be processed" (Under Preferences > 'User' tab) but I keep getting the same results.

In Edit mode, the video plays back without a problem. Any guesses as to what's causing this? Any input will be appreciated. Thank you!

Finally I found the best solution to frequent crash and freezes while rendering a clip with effects. The rendering speed to 75 worked for me.

I tried several fix it's on here and you are the first one where it seems to work. Most say some frame is broken or that I need to delete clips, copy paste them or whatever but actually it helped to put down the render speed from max to 75, my laptop was simply too overwhelmed I guess. I had rendered 10x times longer videos so I wouldn't have thought that is the problem. Thanks. :)

Very Helpful Thank you very much! I also noticed that if I repaired disk permissions (osx) with Utility and restarted the computer ,sounds card and drive it worked better. I was forced to render Titles out of Final Cut then import back to Davinci for it to work properly before this!
