"unable to set up account authentication failed" I followed your steps, I figured all email settings are pretty much the same and it worked!!!! THANK YOU!!

i actually noticed when i started the process in this vid it put me through that security step of asking me to verify who I am by entering a code sent to another email address. when I did that there was a box to check saying, "I use this device a lot. don't ask me to verify" or something like that. after I checked that box, the stock email app no longer had any authentication issues, without going any further into the app password process. never got the app password. works fine, now

Genius. Thanks man. I realized that the issue started when i first got the two step notification enabled. It then eventually led to me not realizing apps my email in the app would use a different passwords. Thanks for your help.

Went to a client today with a problem logging in to his hotmail on his Apple products, turns out it was because of this.
