The black "community" has sucked for a long time. I don't blame others for how they view this bunch because of so many bad apples. I maneuver through life in a different way.

I'm an immigrant living in Chicago for a long time. Most of the comments i read here does not come with no solutions but moaning and excuses. I live in a black community on the westside and I'll tell you this, 80% of black folks do not care about running grocery stores in their community. And most do not care about who sells what in the community. The cycle of selling drugs, buying designer wears, cigarettes, liquor, pimpin, prostitution is all we see on a daily basis. I can travel stay as long as i can and when i get back all i see is the same black community nothing changes. but then i take a trip to the North side of Chicago then realise a lot done change since i took my trip. There is systemic excuse to it but is because we allow it. And we have this "i dont care" mentality

a business owner has no obligation to help people who wont even help themsleves! Anyone who's lived around these areas know the people there are rude, theives, and can't keep thier area clean. A lot of the thugs hang out in these stores selling drugs. But a lot of these people always want free handouts. Why don't rappers or nba players give back to white or latino communities who buy their product?

The level of audacity for any community who chooses to come to a country to compare their plight to those forces is egregious.

Some of our Black folks complain needlessly. Where are your own stores? Often, in our communities, it is these same people we tend to denigrate who offer services. Our own folks move out to the Suburbs, and definitely no white person will open a store there - never. They won't even drive through our neighborhoods.

Black People just need to STOP patronizing all of their businesses to put them out of Business in the black neighborhoods. And set up their own shops and patronize their own shops PERIOD!!

Arabs, Koreans, Indians, Chinese—blacks end up having problems with every group that does business in their communities. At a certain point you have to wonder, which side is the problem?

I think the problem is that those blacks who could bring real change have all left the neighborhood. Here in Dallas, those blacks who grew up in the inner city move to the suburbs once they can afford to. If they were forced to stay, they wouldn't put up with disrespectful store owners, drug houses, and gangs. But those who could organize and force those bad actors out are gone. All thats left is people too old or too poor to do anything...
