I fish a river and when the wind is out of the north I need to slow the boat down when drifting will this work with the gps and speed control on or will i have to control it manually

My Xi5 is 2 years old. It has the same battery issue. I take my batteries out right before my boat cover goes back on, every time. They should’ve added an on/off switch because the pedal always tries to link up to the motor head and remote when it’s got batteries in it.
Other than that I’ve tangles with the awful foot pedal tension. I ended up using plastic springs.
The pedal works with magnetic contacts for left/right rotation. That’s why it’s not a dynamically controlled speed of rotation regardless of how you step on the medal. It’s either on or off when the magnetic switch is closed or open.
Other than these the TM has been a blessing.
Don't buy one. They are garbage. 2 year battle with their "customer service"
