My favorite "Anti-Heroes" are: Sherek and Cap. Jack Sparrow.
ОтветитьAtticus Finch … To Kill a Mockingbird…
ОтветитьDue to this list, which is my goto when I'm just in the mood, my son 13 and I watched #7. He was jaw droppingly (is that a word?) Stunned, along with me. It is one of the most wonderful movie, that I can't explain, that I, and I suspect my son has ever seen.
After the movie my son kept asking me,"did you like it Mom ?", "did you like it mom?". He just kept asking me, because I just can't explain it, even to myself. It's such a good movie, and you don't know why?
typo error at 18,59secs .. dances with wolver
Ответитьnot even one mention of batman wow i’m suprised
ОтветитьThe Chihiro enter caught me off guard. Great list.
ОтветитьIn 7 Samurai(plus villagers) the bandits were the ones who were outnumbered 2 to 1(The bandits did have better weapons and equipment thou).
ОтветитьNot only because the movie is titled HERO, but is worth mention Bernie LaPlante (Dustin Hoffman), who got my vote for Accidental Hero, in fact in Latam the movie is titled Heroe Accidental.
ОтветитьMy Top 10 list
1 Juror 8
2 Atticus Finch
3 Indiana Jones (Raiders)
4 George Bailey
5 James Bond (Sean Connery)
6 The Tramp Character (Chaplin)
7 Robin Hood (Errol Flynn)
8 Joe/Blondie (Clint Eastwood)
9 Chief Brody
10 Marty McFly
Any list of heroes without Jackie Chan is no list
ОтветитьCAESAR. APES TOGETHER STRONG
ОтветитьYou missed Oscar Shindler. He covers all the marks. He may have not died in the end, but he sacrificed everything he had that once mattered to him. Spent decades poor for what he did and was.
ОтветитьMacready from The Thing ticks pretty much all of the boxes (except ideal hero maybe). Gotta love a guy who'd rather burn down the house than lose.
ОтветитьI'll throw in William Wallace in Braveheart. Makes the ultimate sacrifice for his people. A true hero!
ОтветитьNot a movie hero, but Buffy Summers checks off a lot of these boxes. "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" is my all-time favorite TV show, and after 144 episodes had aired, it was hard to find many movie heroes that could match her in scope. Hell, she even sang and danced in the mini-musical "Once More, With Feeling"! She self-sacrificed at least twice in "Prophecy Girl" and "The Gift." (And in "The Wish," if that counts.) And as a girl who's just trying to get through high school, college, and life in addition to being a superhero, she's pretty relatable at times.
ОтветитьOh fuck you Clint. Even mentioning Iron Giant reminds me of the ending. That one word. And I'm crying.
I would argue that his inspiration is the real number 1 though.
A real life hero I would recommend is Frank Serpico in Serpico (1973).
Ответить“Jaws” was 1975. You have it at 1977.
ОтветитьYour old list was sooooo much better, good god
ОтветитьI think you did a great job: the rest of y'all need to realize that each one of your lists would be individual..duh.
ОтветитьSorry I love Frank Drebin, but the best accidental hero of all time is The Dude.
ОтветитьI love the Iron Giant, and I love that you mentioned Snape at the end.
ОтветитьKind of an ironically similar character to The Iron Giant is none other than Baymax. He's kind, he adds humor to a situation which I think is a good additional trait, faces any kind of danger even if that means having to sacrifice himself which is also just as emotional as the Iron Giant's & is simply an honorable rescuer.
ОтветитьThe perfect hero is Superman: some people are bored w him, too good to be true but he Lives ❤
ОтветитьThis was an amazing video. So glad I found this side channel for IGN!
ОтветитьGeorge from "Of Mice and Men"
RIP Fred Ward
Thanks for bringing in a guest just to realize she has terrible taste
ОтветитьI watched this entire damn video and never even heard The Dread Pirate Roberts name. Ridiculous.
ОтветитьI'm honestly disappointed that Ellen Ripley didn't make it to the list, she's a genre defining hero who stepped up to face a predatory creature that consumed everyone around her.
Ответить12 angry men has the greatest racist burn line in it.
"He don't even speak good English"
(In a heavy Spanish accent) "Doesn't."
"What?"
"He doesn't speak good English."
Having your English corrected by someone who clearly speaks ESL, that was just perfect.
Not even a mention of Oskar Schindler!
ОтветитьThis is a great video, but I can't help but laugh at your inclusion of Danger: Diabolik as it was famously the final movie riffed on the cable TV run of Mystery Science Theater 3,000.
ОтветитьYeah. All well and good
It's still Samwise Gamgee though
Seing The Iron Gigant at number 1 was a remarkable surprise for me. He is the true hero and the best version of Superman. Fight me!!!
ОтветитьYou had me at Clarice. Excellent list, as usual
ОтветитьWhat a flaming pile of junk this list is. Of the many, many amazing heroes presented in cinema history, this is the best you could come up with?
Kind of fitting considering Hollywood has largely forgotten what a hero is.
Being kind, good to children, responsible, polite, caring about your community, dutiful, doesn't make you a hero. It just makes you a good person. They aren't the same thing.
Props for Indiana Jones as that is about the only thing you got right.
1. Captain America
2. Superman
3. Luke Skywalker
4. Harry Potter
5. Samwise Gamgee
6. Ellen Ripley - Aliens
7. Indiana Jones
8. Spiderman/Peter Parker
9. Jon Snow
10. Captain Kirk
All Heroes Should Hates Nazis and Communists Equally
ОтветитьGreat choice for #1 It's always been one of my favourite movies and you've helped me realise why 🤖
ОтветитьNot to say miss honey wasn’t a hero BUT 10 words into your guest’s speech i knew it would be a woman..and again not a problem UNLESS much like many accuse men of being…and she’s bias in that way then yes it is a problem
ОтветитьWhy do these channels hate Mel Gibson so much? I mean he said what he said and I get it ok but that doesn’t take way his great work and when you mention underdogs how do you not bring up Apocolypto
ОтветитьNerf hearder is what Alexander mother calls his father in Alexander by Ollie Stone
ОтветитьTwo Jonathan Demme heroes highlighted in this fantastic list. Very underrated director.
ОтветитьI’m shocked you didn’t include Holly Martins. This is literally the first Cinefix video I remember with no Third Man representation.
But the omission of Rick Blaine felt like an outright mistake.
