How to remove Intel CPU and heatsink

So I just learned that my cpu fan has been in the unlocked position for 3 years.

My cpu cooler is still stuck even though I checked the cpu wasn’t attached to the fan maybe it’s the pins? I don’t know

i figured out how to take it off, I need to know how to get it back on. Idk what its screwing into and how it sits, I didnt look before I twisted them to remove it

If it's stuck (and you already removed the motherboard from the case) -> use a hair dryer, on low setting and blow on the heatsink.
Usually it transfers heat FROM cpu, this way it will transfer heat into cpu. And that thermal paste needs just a little bit of warmth to get unstuck

I need help here recently after owning my pc for about 10 months it started over heating and shutting the pc off first when I was playing CSGO then it kept doing it when trying to turn it back on about an hour later pls help

My heatsink has the same connector type solution and I'm trying to change the thermal paste. I did unscrew the screws and popped them out. I rocked the heatsink around a little bit so that it obviously disconnected from the dry thermal paste. Now the issue is, the heatsink only comes out about half a centimeter or so, and it's very obviously those screws resisting me from pulling it out. I'm getting hopeless here, it's a prebuilt Asus G11CD-K from 2017 and I'm trying to avoid having to disassemble the whole thing just to get this cooler out.

pro tip: use or just open the PC for like 5mins for the thermal paste to warm up before removal, makes it 10x easier to wiggle the thing off.

These stupid arrows are so counterintuitive. I broke my last fan screws so I wanted to see if its different way to do it. Midway watching your video I feel like - this is so counterintuitive. And I opened my pc and turned the arrows back and... Voila! It opened without braking. Awesomeeeeeeee

P.S.

The new Intel 7 fan I bought got some 3 thin layers of thermal paste. And I am like thinking WOW this is some next level engineering. I turn on my pc and run LoL - the temps were 88C - 90C. I immediately wiped it and put one squirt of regular paste and... Voila! 58C MAX of only 1 of the 6 cores.

The best way to break the thermal paste is to run it and let it become hot then shut it down and remove it

The 4 black pins on the cooler won't go back in and I cant put in my motherboard

I have Deep Cool Alta 7 but couldn't manage to remove it i know cooler shown in video is different but latching system looks same i did everything and pull out black pins but that white ones are stuck in motherboard

should have showed reinstalling the 4 push pins which is the much harder part.

I’m having an issue. I have a faulty CPU fan in my ASUS G11CD-K, and I want to remove it and have a look at it to see if I can find the issue.
The fan is from everflow, not intel, but the latching system looks identical, so I assumed the procedure would be the same, but it doesn’t want to come of!
After some wiggling I managed to get the assembly loose from the thermal paste, and until there everything in the video worked, but when I try to take it of the motherboard there is some sort of plastic locks on the bottom of the attachments preventing me from lifting it off the motherboard by more than about a centimeter. Does anyone else have this issue?

Im fucking dumb, I built a gaming pc yesterday and used the stock cooler temporarily. I noticed that my pc lagged in every game and got mad. And today I saw the thermal paste NOT OPENED on my desk and understood that I forgot to put on the paste. And now my cooler has melted to the motherboard and I can’t get it off. So damn sad man, 8k down the drain

the power cable seems to be stuck and i cant pull it out, its getting to the point where it is bending the actually motherboard, does anyone know why and how i can fix this issue?

Thanks a million. I bought a used pc off ebay and found out the cpu fan was completly loose and plastic posts were broken. One fell out of the case. Lucky for me the cpu was still locked and safe and tight in. You showed me how to remove the broken fan. Decided to get a cooler master fan instead if intel.
