Hey so i just had to replace my switch with a new one and now it runs forever and won’t shut off. any tips on how to get the pressure to go to the 40 psi so it will shut off? it goes to 32 psi and stops gaining and stays running forever till i flip the breaker switch.

Tons of useful info in this video. Currently my pressure pump is not cutting-in until I'm at zero pressure. I'm guessing I've got a clogged filter at the switch?. I'm ready to tackle it.

Hi Sir, is it possible to know or to calculate, what is the volume of water inside the pressurized tank at 30psi, and at 50psi?

A great refresher while staring at my replacement pump install that wouldn’t quite shut off.

One turn backwards did the trick 👍😁

It’s nice to hear “click, hummm, click”
instead of “click, hum, howwwl, click “

Thank you
👍😎

I watched this video and the one on how to set the tank pressure. I followed both yet my pressure is still inadequate and gets lower as I keep the water running. When I check the tank pressure, it reads 38 psi (my switch setting is confirmed @ 40/60). However, when I drain the water from the tank (and cut the power), my tank pressure is basically non-existent.. Would that indicate a faulty tank?

I didnt get how to higher the low number without lowering the high number. My comoressor turns off at 130psi, but that wont come on again until it gets down to 30psi. I need the bottom number to be closer to 80 or 90

I have a 20/40 switch that used to turn on at 20 psi and turn off at 40 psi. Now it turns on at 30 and turns off at 40. Any idea why it’s turning on at higher pressure instead? Is there an adjustment to make it turn on at 20 again?

For the last year I have had to lower the cut off psi twice to get it to shut off, a year ago to 40PSI, and now to 35 PSI. Before lowering it this time the pump was making a very different sound but still hitting 40PSI. I checked it today and the strange sound had vanished, but it could not reach 40PSI, so I gradually lowered the shut off pressure in steps, and it now shuts off at 35 PSI. Do you think that this indicated a badly eroded impellor?

My mother conveniently shut off breakers after our water pipe under this old dilapidated trailer home came loose..then the old woman went on vacation..also nice was these were the hottest days of the year. She needs to stop fkn with switches this will likely cost her a few hundred I may waste some of her $ trying to fix it myself she is Jewish and l9ves to save money even at her own detriment

Quick question(s):

What size is the hex nut to adjust pressure

To adjust only pressure, does well tank need to be drained or we can adjust w/water inside tank (deenergized ofc)

You also have to change Air pressure in tank to reflect the switch adjustment. 20/40 18 lbs....30/50 28lbs 40/60 38 lbs ...of air pressure.

Thank your for an easy to understand explanation adjusting the pressure switch. I just installed a new water pump for my Florida HVAC system. The pump came with the switch set to 40 / 30 and was short cycling on and off until I adjusted it to 50 / 40. You the man!

Can you set your cut in higher to say, 45 psi and adjust differential to say, 60 psi. Reason I ask is dropping to around 40 for cut in is sometimes too low.

Okay so my pressure switch went bad and I had to replace it yesterday. It was a 40/60. I wired it up exactly the way it's supposed to. I also empty the water out of the tank and checked my PSI of the tank. It was on 32 oh, so I added air to get it to 38. 2 psi below cut on (40). This was my first time doing this so I was actually traveling myself when I turned everything back on and the water was working. However I feel like I have lost a little water pressure in my showers. So you're saying to get a little pressure I should adjust the number one Bolt? How high should I go with it?
