Yuck... these dogs should be out lawd, it's inhumane to breed a dog knowing it has that many health issues.

Most pure breeds (at least the ones in the last 100-150 years) have some sort of deformity (German Shepards can have back problems, golden retrievers are more prone to cancer) so get a mixed breed or a mutt. Just as cute and healthier.

They are cute, but I can’t help but feel bad. Every time I see a pug breathing heavily, I feel sorry it can’t breathe properly.

Mk....so. U guys are totally gonna flame me for this. Ive been putting thought into this. I dont want this breed to completely die out. Would it be better to just make them mutts? And by that I mean wouldnt that make breathing easier on them? They obviously wouldnt be 100% pug but I feel like the breed would be alot healthier if they were bred with other healthier dog breds. I do however think that pugs shouldnt be bred with pugs anymore. Gosh this whole comment sounds so dumb so I will greatfully take the flame.

I feel so bad for them. I work at a store and see a lot of dogs. These dogs have the hardest time breathing and they can't get too excited or they start sputtering... don't get me started on the owners who use neck leashes. The poor things are already suffocating, but I don't say anything. Not my place. :(

The horrific health problems of pugs could easily be fixed in a few generations if they were allowed to breed with different species. Instead, they are kept as deformed as possible because it’s “cute”, which is absolutely disgusting imo.
