Elden Ring Final White Screen Crash Fix

im having the "white screen of death" and you know this makes sence a new update just came out this morning and borked the game realizing its mostr likely just the update

Dude you are the best. I tried everything, literally every solution I could find on the internet didn't work. I reinstalled Windows and just like that, it worked, and also solved some issues I had with many other programs. Thanks a lot!

more and more ppl with the same problem appear, windows 11 previews installed without permission activiated and windows 11 got damaged to a point where only a new installation helps.

to explain in more detail what went wrong with this windows system and to provide a deeper insight into the white screen crash problem:

In this case, preview updates were installed for unknown reasons, although the feature was not activated at all. This meant that the system cleanup did not work properly and a mix of different system file versions (windows core files and directx files) was present. the entire fileset has become unusable in this way and the only way to fix the problem here was to completely reinstall windows.

The problem that occurred here can occur in both Windows versions (10 and 11) the cause is not really known why the file cleanup suddenly no longer works and a mix of discarded preview files results, I have met several other users in the last few weeks who have exactly the same thing happened.

So far every whitescreen crash of elden ring can be traced back to problems in windows, there are a number of problems that can be solved by reinstalling windows components, deleting GPU drivers using DDU and then doing a clean reinstall or EAC and game-incompatible background processes are terminated, sometimes it is even defective game files that trigger such a crash.
The way always leads via the windows event logs, which give technicians like me information about where to look for the cause.
