Just got it's precessor this week what for an exceptional great device. I'am so happy that I bought it even if background noise is slightly higher. It's so well thought through in any aspect even the precessor.

I bought this new, but I see a bit of problems. When I tried to record in MTR, it blocked in a strange way, saying "card full", but it is empty with no files.
I don't know if the h4 is not working or it is a problem of the sd card. I used a simple sd Kingston china 16gb, probably is cheap.
Do you have some tips?

Mike…does the H4N recorder have a metronome that will play in the background but not record on a track? Do you always use a click/beat track for file synchronization or to keep time as a musician/singer? Seems like a step could be eliminated if a metronome and earpiece used when recording instruments and/or voice.

Dude, Thanks for that tutorial. I learned more in your vid than a dozen other creators who claim to show functions and features for this H4N model. They just sit there and talk or sit there and sing and play their song or hook up all this peripheral equipment, keyboards, mics, mixers, but never show how to use the damn thing. I just wanted a tool to record multi track acoustic guitars with a vocal to sound decent enough for songwriting. Nobody would use this thing for real world recordings. You should do a tutorial on how to do tutorials when reviewing equipment. Thanks Again!

My Zoom H4n has worked perfectly for years. That stopped yesterday. Now when I try to record using the built-in mics, nothing but a thin distortion is recorded. Changing file type, 90/120° mic angles, etc. makes no difference. Any idea what has caused this or how to fix it? Thank you.

I'd like to make live recordings with vocals on one track and guitar on a separate track. I'll be using the two XLR inputs, so can I assign one XLR to one channel and the other to a second so that I can download the tracks later to Audacity to edit separately? I hope that makes sense.

Can you put your bounce track on one of the 4 channels, then record 3 more new tracks, and have them saved with your first 4 individual tracks, for a total of 7 tracks, and keep reapeating that bounce process if you wanted more individual tracks ?? I'm talking about importing the Bounce track to one of the 4 cahannels internally, just using the H4N.. Thanks for any help.. Just trying to get more than 4 tracks..

I'm having a problem recording on both left and right channels using my onboard mics. can I alter the sound levels individually. I can't find a setting and wonder if one of the mics is faulty. Any help appreciated. Excellent tutorial by the way Thanks.

Im confused about the recording levels in mtr mode. What am i adjusting? I have an xlr mic plugged directly into the zoom and i’ve turned the input level down to 4 but it still maxes out the audio.
