Unrealistic video… most DIY’s won’t have 100k in wood working equipment to produce this kinda material.

I know this was before you moved to Nova Scotia, but with the amount of cutoffs and sawdust you could run a small steam engine generator.

I've worked with STEEL and the principles are the same when working with long pieces. They make adjustable stands with horizontal rollers on them for this purpose of slide long, floppy pieces. These works great! That dryer hose was an accident to happen. They make flexible METAL hosing. Switch over to that and you're good to go!

You really should use some kind of respirator when emptying your collector.

Brother...I'm aware this was posted 5 years ago. Though I just happened to come across this video. You are extremely efficient and Creative. Seriously. I Like how you addressed the screw wholes, with those plugs. I stay busy with flooring, no carpet or tile. Just epoxy, staining, concrete overlays. We could barter...turn the workshop floors into something different. That is one of the aspects of what I do, that I absolutely LOVE. You would make a great neighbor. 🤓🤓 Just to learn from someone like you would he a Blessing.

Kick ass video! 1st time viewer here. I was planning to refinish my oak veneer baseboards, painting them white, but as I was pulling them off I saw how crappy and cheap they are so figured I might just buy some that are a lot nicer and already painted. Then I thought, wait, maybe I should just buy some pine planking and make some myself. Why not? I have a jointer, a table saw, a router table, etc. etc., then I saw that I can get 80 feet for less than $120 already primed and concluded that would be the best route. I have plenty of other tasks I can spend that time on.

Mathias, wow random discovery. I literally bought the same dryer house yesterday to connect my table saw and dust collector. Even when the line between each was perfectly straight and tight, the hose collapsed at the DC inlet. How is yours staying open?

I can relate to the running marathon, due to "single person" feeding. LOL
But you are very clever with your home made power feeder. Well done. (Canada?)
P.S. So what do you use your oak dust for? I know the waste sticks are great for the wood stove.

How about cutting a blue barrel to fit the dust machine. If you cut a few windows in the barrel, and covered the windows with filtering cloth to allow air flow would assist. No more shoveling.

I see you are using the Dewalt 735 planer, I have the same one, but I'm constantly having nuisance tripping of the built in circuit breaker. I'm really not over stressing the planer. Normally just taking 1/32 on a 3" wide ash or walnut board. Have you dealt with this problem? Once it trips the circuit breaker, the interval between tripping gets shorter and shorter. I assume because it's a bimetal switch that doesn't go all the way back to the original position each time. Brad_bb

It'll save a lot of back-and-forth trips by adding a ramp behind the table saw or router to direct the long boards side-way and down
