Prevent Wireless Mouse from Waking Up Windows from Sleep Mode

If you tried everything out there and your mouse or keyboard is still waking up your PC, then check if some of them (mouse/keyboard) is connected to a 3.0 USB port. If so, try to connect to a regular USB port, instead.

I was almost going crazy not being able to turn of mouse from waking up my PC. And then I found this video. Many thanks.

Thanks for the effort on the Sleep mode and thought it would also help with my Mx3 issue, but this doesn't help with the issue of "MX Anywhere 3 - mouse is waking the screen BEFORE sleep mode, but not when in actual sleep mode.

"The Uni receiver is waking the screen after it goes off (before the sleep mode), PREVENTING it to go to the next phase of the full sleep afterwards (after 10 minutes and 20 seconds)

My PC is set to screen off after 5 minutes.

First goes to screen off after 5 mins - correct

Then the uni key resumes it after another 5 minutes - incorrect

then after another circa 3 minutes goes to screen off and stays off - correct

This is unfixable unless you a) remove the uni key from the USB A port b) turn off the Mx3 with the little on/off switch.

Has any improvement ever been made since then?

I know how to prevent it... unplug the fucking mouse

Just wow! thank you this! helped me even it is not the mouse that keeps my PC from sleeping. For me it is my wireless keyboard. My keyboard still waking my computer even I have unchecked all the "allow this device to wake the computer" on the keyboards device list. Happens that my wireless keyboard is also disguised as "HID complaint mouse" on the mice list on the device manager. Tried to look for the right driver for my mouse and uncheck the one that is not. My PC can now stay asleep even I press keys on my keyboard. Thank you again!

After months I found out the my Logitech mouse with its remote wake up function is NOT under "mouse device" in die windows hardware manager but under "KEYBOARD"!!! There you have to turn off the wake up function from one those shown keyboards.

Thank you so much, i used to use sleep mode bc i didn't wanted to close my projects, but when my cats moves my mouse or something hits the table and the mouse (laser sensor) moves just a little bit, it wakes up and starts wasting electricity while I sleep

In device manager, opening any of the mouse or keyboards, the "power management" tab is not there..

This works 100%. One of the "keyboards" listed in the windows device manager is actually a mouse. BIOS and other settings are not relevant. Good job Microsoft :P

My bios doesn't have a settings option

the box where it says "allow device to wake computer" is greyed out. Anyone know why?
