park your car and walk around north hartford if it's not that bad lmao
ОтветитьThe suburbs are sucking Hartford proper dry
ОтветитьHartford boasts a pathetic excuse for a downtown. Check out New Haven and enjoy the best slice of pizza you'll ever have!
ОтветитьKinda resemble a city i used to live in germany called darmstadt
ОтветитьWhere did the hotel reviews go?
ОтветитьI was born here and lived in this area my whole life . Im 70 years old and it was totally different in the 50s and 60s. its amazing watching all your videos how all the state capitols all look alike. watching you go thru the US is fascinating and I find myself watching your channel for hours
ОтветитьHartford is my home town, born and raised, I have been living in PA for literally half my life, but still hold Hartford close to my heart. Poverty or not, it is a historical city which makes it special.
ОтветитьThe castle is actually the soldiers arch memorial at Bushnell Park, Hartford Connecticut also has the Oldest military organization in the United States with over 251 years of continuous service I have been a member for 17 years as a Sargent, next time you come to Hartford I can show you around and don't forget about Mark Twain`s house
Ответить❤I admit this is One of MY personal FAVORITES, although there quite a few around that will Capture You 👍🏿❤️✌🏿🌻🇺🇦🌻‼️
ОтветитьOnly kidding
ОтветитьHate Hartford
ОтветитьI grew up in suburban Hartford. In the 1960s my friends and I used to take the bus into the city, and we always had a great time. There were many interesting stores like G. Fox & Co., Sage-Allen and E.J. Korvettes. The sidewalks were packed with people, and there were many places to eat, at all price points. Hartford looks so dreary now.
ОтветитьWe need to meet up and go.around Hartford, its Nice, I see this was A Year ago, Hope you Have Been back
ОтветитьSo he goes to one city.. our state has some beautiful places!!! What a bull💩 visit!!
ОтветитьTotal ghost town. Crime ridden and zero culture. Sad hopeless place. Stay far far away.
ОтветитьMark Twain said Hartford was the most beautiful city in the world. it has really fallen apart. Capitol building is incredibly beautiful and alludes to an interesting past. Otherwise the city has seen better days. I think it used to be a well planned city and they ruined it with the architectural monstrosities they have put up. I keep away from Hartford.
ОтветитьGreat look at my hometown. Where you were at in the beginning was Bushnell Park and that was the Arc. The historic carousel is there. great childhood memories. Downtown was much more active, family friendly while I was growing up. They had the Richardson Mall & The Civic Center mall with bookstores etc. There was a McDonald's and a Wendy's. It now represents places and things that cater to the corporate/wealthy. Everything is closed by 5p. It was busier PRE-COVID! i grew up in the South END, what used to be Little Italy. We had a yearly Italian Festival. Hartford was great back in the 80's/90's!
ОтветитьBro is the type to get mugged lol u drove around Hartford in the middle of the day at like 12-1pm on a cold rainy day 😂 all those houses are multiple family section 8 houses.. u didn't even drive by any active blocks on tge north or any projects.. im from Bridgeport to ive been Hartford plenty of times for work n social occasions.. if u drive down albany ave on a hot day or a busy night youll c nuthin but crsckheads n guys that look like they jus got outta jail lol
ОтветитьMy guy funny asf. Go there at night, you’ll be ready to go back to your hotel, and you really didn’t hit any spots
ОтветитьYou didn't see Flatbush Ave with the bars on the windows of all the apartments..
ОтветитьPeople work in downtown Hartford and then go home to the suburbs at night. That is why it is quiet.
ОтветитьPeople rent those houses and they are multi family houses.
ОтветитьI have lived in Harford suburbs for over 60 years. It is shameful how much poverty and crime there is. I used to go to play my bass at jams in city clubs but it is no longer safe to do that. Funny you saw the Irish Lady. It is actually the Russian Lady and they renamed it Irish after the war in Ukraine broke out. I hope you do more of other areas in Connecticut, it is a beautiful state. About 20 years ago Hartford started evicting people and tore down housing sending the poorest people out of the city and into neighboring towns. Huge problem with gangs, drugs and crime of all sorts. Yet 5 miles out of Hartford life is good and people make lots of $. Enjoy your videos! I'm wondering where you two will end up living after all your travels are over-and I'm sure it won't be in Hartford!
ОтветитьThose three family houses are all probably rented as apartments where is this guy come from
ОтветитьWhat a wet nasty day
ОтветитьI've lived on the northend, and currently on the southend. I've been told be law enforcement that crime is even, however it seems worse to me on the southend. In the 80s and 90s, downtown Hartford was mini New York City. Once Macy's closed, and the mini clothing stores closed, it was the beginning of the end. Hartford hasn't been the same once the dance clubs closed in the 2000s. Dead ever since.
ОтветитьDowntown has a lot of big building when my mom drove through it to get to Holyoke a lot of real skyscrapers
ОтветитьI live somewhat close to Hartford, and it is bad in some places, like really bad! However, I do think it has been improving slowly.
ОтветитьHas the Bronco been a reliable car? Are you happy with it?
ОтветитьWhy didn't you visit the state capital building?
Ответитьis funny af that only white people consider Hartford or any other urban areas " poor and dangerous" , all because the obvious reason that they dare to mention, " minorities" . i was a truck driver for many years , im. white by the way, and unless it was a city like new York, chicago or LA , everywhere i went looks like Hartford or even worse. my advice is that when you visit a place, enjoy it ...
ОтветитьAll those 3 story "houses" were tenements with 3-6 families sharing them. They are not single family dwellings. Each family probably has less than 1,000 sq ft.
ОтветитьI lived in CT for 7 years with my old job.
I hated it.
Post Covid nobody in the offices. There were 125k workers downtown prior to 2020. All govt offices and most insurace cinoanies had wirking from hime thru 2922
ОтветитьYou should visit its much more interesting and vibrant sister city New Haven next time.
ОтветитьThose "huge" three story houses your driving by are multity family homes. Theres a family on each floor. 3+families living in them. You drove around during the middle of the day during the week. Drive through at night, it's a whole different scene. And for downtown being dead, people are working and not walking around in 45 degree weather in the rain.
ОтветитьOur tax’s keep the ghetto in nice shape this is a tax & spend state big time
ОтветитьHopefully it doesn’t turn into Portland or Seattle or San Francisco or New York
ОтветитьDon't generalize about Northern NJ being bad. Yes, there's Newark and Paterson ghettos, but most of Northern NJ is middle to upper middle class and very affluent people, and very nice towns. Towns like Upper Saddle River, Bernardsville, Far Hills, Glen Ridge and Mountain Lakes, are very affluent. Visit places like that sometime, and maybe your opinion will change.
ОтветитьI grew up in a suburb about 15 minutes outside of Hartford. Hartford has definitely seen better days, but it does have some gorgeous historic architecture especially in the downtown area. There’s actually a lot of really nice green space parks in the city. The problem with Hartford is everybody works in the downtown area but lives in the outer suburbs. There isn’t much to keep people in Hartford because there’s not much to do and because of the high crime rate. I’m still hoping one day it can revitalize itself because I do think it has a lot of potential.
ОтветитьAll the insurance exec's and managers live out in Simsbury area.
Ah the Russian, I mean Irish, i mean Ukrainian lady...
Thanks I came here after CT Gov. Ned Lamont's comment after Final Four about Houston being "butt ugly"
What an idiotic thing to say but not surprising coming from him.
I was @ Dunkin Donuts Pk a few days B4 U shot this & can confirm the desolation walking around downtown Hartford
I Enjoy your videos
Have U ever thought of going to Jersey City or Newark, NJ or even NYC on an early weekend morning?
A simple drive thru anywhere just can't give anyone the whole picture of any location... Good or bad.
ОтветитьThose three story houses have three families in them... Some are chopped up into five or 6 apartments. You never went to the South end or the Wethersfield Ave Area... After dark there it's a whole new world. I lived and worked in that area for 40 yrs. There used to be a push to revitalize downtown. It was always busy in the daytime during the week.. Deserted on weekends.
ОтветитьCT has some beautiful parks and small rural towns. A ton of history, and some great little spots, even in Hartford. It really is too bad what a dump it's becoming.
Edit: If yer looking for real '' ghettos'' come on down to Waterbury. About two blocks behind the mall is a good start...
If you came during the week day and if it wasn’t raining you will definitely see it being very busy. The summer time is worse.
ОтветитьThe “Irish Lady” was always the “Russian Lady”… so named for the famous statue of the Russian Lady in a throne on top of the building. Used to go there in late 1970s & early 80s after working at the Post Office on Weston Street. I googled when it became the Irish Lady, and Wikipedia said the bar’s name was changed from “The Russian Lady” to the “ Ukrainian Lady”🤦🏻♀️in April 2022… how stupid! The building was built in 1895 and housed a Produce company. The statue on top of the building was moved there around 1914 from the Rossia Insurance Company on Asylum Hill. I’m doing all your work for you, Mr Spoda! Were you there on St Patrick’s Day, by any chance as that sign “ The Irish Lady” is obviously temporary ☘️FYI….Hartford, like most Democratic run state capitals has long been a dump… and a very dangerous place to be( as are all of CT’s big cities). If you know… you know👊🏾👊🏽👊🏼FYI2: that “ mural” says it ALL😮
ОтветитьHartford my home town. I go all cross connecticut just to find art work like that
ОтветитьThe three story “homes” are mostly apartments so 3+ families live in them
ОтветитьIt's not an Irish pub. It's a plastic paddy bar.
Ответить
