The prefix [me] is added to the base word to create an active verb. Actually, we also can say [says curi karena lapar], is still understandable. But if you want to express that your purse was stolen, a different prefix is applied, i.e., [Dompet says DI + CURI =DICURI].

Ok the lndonesian and philiphino language is more similar to Odia than to Hindi. There is 3000year history of that entire region being ruled by Kalinga kings of odisha, India ,till about 15th century AD, and of commerce.

This is not very interesting because the words are chosen for similarity. Doesn’t mean that impression Indonesian is similar to Hindi. I could chose five word in French that are adopted from Turkish for example, doesn’t mean French and Turkish are related. We just borrow some words. And I’m sure Turkish had borrowed some from French also.

Indonesia means like india. the west earlier called indonesia , Indies. Columbus was to come here, but found west indies instead of east indies. Both Gupta age and chola empire had enough influence on entire south east asia. Learned man from Nalanda were invited to most south east asian kingdoms, that took Hinduism, Buddhism , mathematics, Sanskrit, science, philosophy, administration, accounting to ASEAN nations. Much later on, Muslims from gujrat, India turned indonesia and malaysia towards Islam.

rather than Hindi, which has changed much under foreign rule, ASEAN will have more resemblances with other indoaryan languages like bengali, assamese , odisi and dravidian language of Tamil. All have great influences of Sanskrit- language of scholars in ancient age.

Additionally Korean has influence of Tamil, because the Goryo dynasty first queen was Tamil princes.

This Indian guy probably doesn't know the crude and pure versions of hindi differently he sees it as one that's why he keeps mentioning the Arabic/Persian derived words in hindi, while their main purpose is find similarities between sanskrit and Bahasa Indonesia.
