Thanks for this. I knocked off my bathroom ceiling light light this morning. I'm very tall. The wires came out at the base.
Thus video saved me. It was awkward for me to put it all together but everything is fine now.

Don’t no what I’m doing wrong. I’m not 100% sure on what cable is what ie the in out and switch. For some reason I must have a permanent live going to the bulb as it stays on without switching it on. Any ideas what I’ve done wrong?

Great video. In my situation, i have two ceiling lights in my living room one with one twin core cable coming through and the other has 4 twin core cables coming through and the brown tape signifying the switch cable is round the Blue wire on one length of cable and the brown wire on a different length of cable. Do you know why this would be?

Where would the best practice for taking a live feed for my new light??? I think the main fed is going to the light switches and not to the light pendant would I be right?? Thanks

Hi, my 3 earth wires won't fit into the earth plate. The old fitting had a metal plate. Do you know where I can buy one. Thanks for your posts,very helpful.

I fitted a new LED Light (manufactured in Europe) pendant on to loop, but it didn't have all those connections for a loop so I used one of those clip kit things. The pendant did not have a terminal for the earth, so I just twisted them together and shoved it aside, does anyone know of that will cause a problem?

This didn’t help at all, I’ve got 9 wires poking out of my ceiling and I’m not fitting a plastic ceiling Rose, my light fitting doesn’t have a terminal box , only blue / brown, so I’ve got 7 wires I don’t know what to do with. And I’ve wired blue to blue and brown to brown and my light doesn’t work. No help at all

Great video ! Does it matter which way around the two cables are wired into the loop and neutral? Those two are unidentifiable and I’ve just changed all my pendants and somewhere the circuit has been cut off but I can’t see a fault 🤦🏻‍♀️

I have four sets of wires coming in, two pairs of red-red black-black and earths (which are twisted together). How do I figure out which one is the switch since there's no brown marker on any of the live wires?

So how do you tell which is the switch, loop in and loop out wires? Also what if there is a 10 wire, which is gray?

Looking for some help. Need to switch a fitting for standard bayonet as it’s a square type. Popped the cover down and only have loop in. Live ( brown ) neutral ( blue ) and earth. No other cables at all. Am I simply reconnecting the exact same way? After watching this I don’t see a switch cable on mine? Cheers.

How can I identify the switch live when its notnl marked? I removed the wires from the ceiling rose and forgot to mark it and now i dont know which is switch live. Please help. Thanks
