Naruto writing at its worst. Shisui of the body flicker is beaten by a single use of the Izanagi yet Sasuke managed to survive like a dozen. Izanagi and Izanami are just ridiculous abilities anyway, one is a near guaranteed win and the other is an unblockable, invincible, talk no jutsu.

This is one of the moment that ruins the whole "everything Danzo has done was for Konoha" excuse. Shisui could have prevented what was about to happen with no bloodshed. But Danzo was a man mostly driven by his greed, paranoia and envy, even at the cost of the greater good. To him Shisui's eyes were far more valuable than the lives of every member of one of the strongest clans in Konoha.
