10 Unique Games Worth Spending 1000 Hours In

Games I have over 1000 hours in: Path of Exile, Diablo 2, Warcraft 3, World of Warcraft, Disgaea 5, Bloodborne, Minecraft, and Tetris (spread across many versions of the game). FF14 is well on its way. By far the game with the most time is WoW with over 16,000 hours over the last 15 years and PoE coming in second with 2500-ish hours.

Where's Cities Skyline?

The game I have logged the most hours into is Fallout 76. Have around 500 hours into it. Pretty damn good game, and community, now.

Factorio that game is my favorite simbuilder it is so huge you can do endless hours of construction and research

i enjoyed satisfactory because of the less base defense vs just build your factory plus FP

Modding Skyrim is one of my favourite rabbit holes 😂 I am more of a Guild Wars 2 person. I've tried both FFXIV and GW2 and while group content in XIV is the best, the dynamics, the mounts, the music, the story, the presentation, etc of GW2 has me completely enamoured and it's probably my most played game. Also, freaking Warframe. That's a behemoth of an mmo.

Civ 5 and 7 days to die would be on my list, got over 5k hours on 7dtd.

Elder Scrolls Online

I put 3000 hours into Path of Exile, which is still pretty light for some people, and I still went running/screaming away from it. The one-shots are just too brutal when it takes 5 days to try to level up. So annoying!!!!

Spent 6000 hours in A.C ODYSSEY best game eveeer...the rest of the games is boooooring...

In multiplayer games these can be rookie numbers. Single player that I played most is Mount and Blade thanks to all the cool mods it has to freshen up the sandbox campaign setting.

Crusader Kings II is the most fearsome time vacuum there ever was.

I made the mistake of launching ONE SINGLE GAME. Spent the next 70 hours struggling to conquer and unite the crown of Spain. And I had a good time !

Just a precision regarding Path of Exile, you don't reach endgame in "a hundred or so hours".

You reach endgame in 20h on a very slow playthrough (first time and listening to all dialogues), 10h on a good pace, and 5h if you gotta go fast.

Just so people don't think this is one of THESE game that gets good after the first month. Path gets good after the first 5 seconds and stays consistently good for the next 10.000h. Or so I heard from people who have more mileage than me. I am a mere 1300h noob.

How did ytou not mention ARK?

shoutout to disgaea games. SRPG's dont exactly appeal me nowadays but i used to sink TONS and TONS of hours in those games. 9999 level cap, you can level up every item, some games have rebirth system. Pretty sure theres people who have spent 5000+ hours across the whole series.

Well I will add shadow of war also it's a pretty good game in which I might not have spent a 1000 hr mark but I have gone back to it from time to time again

Please do something similar but only for single player games. Most of these are MMOs and the whole point is ongoing gameplay. Games that are released to play alone and finish a campaign and yet keep you coming back year after year are much more impressive. I am disabled and game therapy keeps me sane. I would never have survived without the 1000s of hours I have placed in Skyrim, Fallouts, Witchers, Elden Ring, Dark Souls, Red Dead, and other worlds that beg you to explore every ending, role, mechanic and build. A list of 10 single player games that consume you would be great. Thanks

So far there are only two non-MMOG I've played for more than 1,000 hours: Kenshi and Project Zomboid.

You never quit runescape, you just take really long breaks

I think the only game I’ve played close to 1000 hours is Diablo 2.

I have no idea how people can speed 1000+ hours in any game without moving on to something new lol. Doesn't it get boring or not enjoyable or just tedious. I think the longest for me at a time is around 200 hours in RDR2 or maybe a fallout game or even NFS underground 2 back in the day and then you just get over it and seen most of it, completed the main story etc. I could play like 5-10+ games in the same time someone spends 1000 hours in 1 game which seems alot better to me lol. I just dont get it but thats just me i guess. Variety is the spice of life. No game is meant to last 1000 hours non stop, im sorry. If you need mods etc to mix up a game and make it feel fresh, maybe its time to try a new game haha
