I found out I was a dad frew a phone call. I gave up drugs drink as she was in care born on methadone. 12 wk old 18mths see her was going get custody. 9hrs b4 she got signed over 2 me my flat mate was stabbed by idiot mate for no reason. 3 in morn getting interviews by murder squad. 9 go court in shit clothes cos flat crime scene I lost het. Instead coming home with new brilliant girlfriend painting room pink. Had go alone and mop up blood and paint over walls the blood can't describe that feeling no words could express the emptyness I felt. Alone no one helped. I did it all for her alone I'm crying now 11 year later it hurts so much 9 hours from getting her I gave everything up and did it alone no one helped rightly so I'm her dad. My mum me had fractured relationship . She was dying altzthimers but making her grandmother look on her face is so good. She dead dad dead not one my friends asked was I ok not one. I made sure she was adopted by foster mum and she got her. I nearly broke cos me and gf split 5mth later then mum died I lost it all and my flat I relapsed for 8year I got clean on my own homeless. I'm still on streets London but write songs bout my experiences check some out on my channel peace love and the social breaking bond between me and my daughter hurt more than anything I had alot pain. The sadness never goes away x cherish every moment u have with those u love it's not forever love ❤

I lost my daughter she was adopted coz helmet head violent friends. I got no truck with them. Men like that can go 2 hello!!! If we dont meet again I be in heaven angel x I was abandoned at 16 after dad died. I'm 46 now I love her more than anything one day I hope she reads or hears this song x ❤

I love the story of how Olivia became the singer to this song, which Eddie wrote There was a female pro singer pegged to sing it, but when Eddie brought it to Sean he had Olivia sing it as a simple demo. Olivia shyly sang it and Sean loved the youthful vulnerability in her voice and went with Olivia's version in the movie. Great choice!

Olivia's voice is stunning.

My Dad was the light of my life. He passed away in 1988 and I still grieve for him. He taught me to cook, gave me music and most importantly, he taught me that people are people, regardless of color or creed and that if I truly wanted to see God, to head on up into the mountains and I would be sure to find him there. RIP Dad. You're still my hero.
