NORDIC STYLE ! – the Scandinavian look explained (6 fashion basics)

I grew up in UK and prefer patterns, florals and abstracts more than plain coloured clothes. I just think they are brighter and make me happier wearing more colourful clothes too, although it does take a bit more thought when putting an outfit together so it looks stylish and also to avoid too many clashing colours or patterns. I just think its a bit more individualistic too and I enjoy buying from vintage shops too so no has the same outfit as me. It was interesting to see u vid on all the different styles though. 👏

Never lived in a any Nordic country, paternal grandmother was from Stockholm! 80 year old Dad dresses very scandi, so I guess that is why it is my vibe

This style is perfect for me living in a cool climate so layers are great. Having MS, I need comfort and things that are easy to get on and off. I can be comfortable and look stylish too. Palazzo pants with a cool design, embroidery, or details work great. I just go up a size for a flowy look head to toe!I like to pick up quality items at tag sales, thrift stores and ebay. I look for vintage clothes.

Now I understand why my nordmann loves my style so much. I’m latina and we wear all tight and sexy feminine clothes lol I do, however, mix and match. Most days, I dress with neutral colors, but I also have my beautiful red dresses and things like that. Some days, I do wear oversized look, but my style is more on the feminine side. He loves it. I suspect that the oversized looks just fine on the tall Scandies.. but surely, the shorter one is, the more difficult to it is without looking frumpy

Apparently, I'm a product of my heritage. American here, and style wise: I'm American, with French and Swedish twists (which are some of my bloodlines). I GREW UP ON THIS TOO! And Justine Leconte's rules!! People have often thought/mistook me as "someone who doesn't know how to dress," cause I don't dress typical American female, I'm just different style wise.

I think the look is great on tall, thin, conventionally attractive people, but oversized clothes and white all over looks horrible on my short squat frame. Wish I could pull it off.

Androgynous style has such an edge that I find so hot! 🤩 tho it is difficult sometimes when one has more curves and soft lines. Tips anyone? I’m all ears 👂🏻

I studied in Denmark and remained partial to the Scandi look for both everyday looks and home style. However, being petite, I like a waistline and tend to avoid the oversized shape. Loose fit will do!

I think my favorite part of the Scandi look is the oversized silhouette. I especially adore wide leg pants, and, in the US, it hasn't been a thing for a long time and never big enough (at least to me :))

I love the oversized look, but being petite that doesn't always work. Can you do Nordic style for petite sized women. I love the style.

I wishhh I could do all oversized it looks so cool! But at 5'1 I get so completely lost, or just turn into a ball. Do you ever see very short women pulling off this look well?

I am thinking that one of the reasons Scandis may be into oversize everything is that - generalizing here - being larger/taller people (Viking blood!) they can pull it off! Interesting video

I find the Scandi look cool, but it's definitely not for me as I am 1.56m. lol Oversized silhouettes just make me look like a pile of laundry.

I love everything androgynous and oversized so am naturally inclined to the Scandi look. Unfortunately, my short, curvy Cuban body doesn't look as good in it as I would like, but I do it anyway because I hate frill, tight and florals.

I feel that over 50 this would be a difficult look to pull off (It looks great though!). I gravitate more to a feminine look the older I get. But I would definity want to expirement with the no-makeup (look) on the eyes and bold lips. And the chunky shoes. Thank you Jenny for this breakdown!

You Scand-taffic ladies (at least as I understand) tend to be on the taller side. If you are petite and short of stature like many here in New England USA, too oversized can make you look like you are wearing a circus tent.

I've been to Stockholm many years ago and I'm in love with scandi fashion ever since. Now all my clothes are either moss green, navy blue, black or grey, and I love it!

Jenni would you ever consider doing a video styling someone with the opposite body type as yourself? How much Scandi-cool can a curvy girl have??

Nordic fashion is interesting and I will apply some of the principles, but, as stated by others it's very hard to pull off if you are not VERY TALL AND SLENDER. I enjoy looking at the models and taking the pieces that are becoming to my style and figure. The makeup is my favorite 😍

i love this type of videos! i went to Stockholm & denmark last summer for the first time and honestly i can’t stop thinking about everything i experience in the nordics countries. i am soo obsessed, and more so after discover that my favorite brands have the headquarters in Stockholm lol

When I visited Stockholm it felt like coming home regarding the fashion. I’ve always been drawn to the Scandi look so when I came back to Belgium you definitely see a difference. Still sticking with my Scandi look though 😉
