How to change the icon of a console application (exe) in Visual Studio 2019 (C++)

I want to change the background of the debug console window to photo from my pc, if you can help me please.

Something I noticed after I followed this tutorial is if you're viewing the Solution Explorer, you can right click on the "Resource Files" item (visible at the very start of this tutorial), go to "Add" and "Resource..." and you'll get the same popup menu as you did in this tutorial.
BTW both methods work in Visual Studio Community 2022

My icon on application shows very small (maximally 48x48) even if i select extra large icons, in visual there are multiple icon layers like 256x256, 128x128...

There is no (add<resourses...) in VS 2015

I searched for "How to change image file in a exe program" or software, this is in no way what I was looking for therefor cannot sub cannot like, but can .. never midmind.

visual studio is determined to get more complicated year after year. doing simple things should not require this many clicks. i miss devC++ it was so much lighter and simpler. this is just stupid

resource isn't there for me, and my file is a .cpp

Thank you. For anyone else, some formats work and some don't. Don't try your luck with any other file format. Just convert your image to .ICO. There are free websites that do it for you in seconds.

I do this and it literally just uses a default icon and won't use mine. tried deleting the ones out of resources that it keeps generating too
