These are the reasons I drink....my husband and I got divorced af28 years because his mental health was so much to handle alone...he did horrible stuff for like 9 months then was diagnosed with cancer and I was helping him with everything. We were working our way back to each other then they gave him news of horrible cancer side effects and he had a heart issue and kidney and a couple other things...they sent him home alone after that and he committed suicide!!! These are the reasons why I drink...😢

For some reason when this song came out, I dismissed it. I guess I just wasn't in an Alanis mood. I like to think Alanis is "mood food" but really it's just so emotionally weighty that sometimes you can't face her raw lyrics. I'm so glad I found this song

i'm not okay

Constantly find myself listening to this. I’ve gone through addiction but it doesn’t hit it for me, hits for my sister who went through it last year. She’s 1 year and 4 months sober and every time I hear this it hurts but I’m also so entirely proud of how far she’s come. We do recover 🥰

I’m the person in the hospital bed. 4 or 5 days, every other month, for the last year. Addiction is a bitch.

Her writing is literal poetry, her music is emotive and real. She is an artist, not because of the fame like so many, but for the act of creating. Listening to the vapid, hollow lyrically petulant music of most top 10s in 2023, I still find it offensive that she and so many actual artists, are overlooked.

There is only one true God, and she is Alanis Morissette. Kevin Smith is the best director.. I have bpd, and her music is the one of the only few things in my life that I trust to not abandon me. I don't drink, I take lots of sedatives though, that's my poison. There is an acoustic of her songs that's kinda softly played it's like asmr on Spotify. Helps me fall asleep smiling, thinking of a different place ❤❤
