Compared to the rainbow rod, unholy trident, and venom staff, the magical harp is pretty bad against planterra, which at it's stage, is its only real use. The main reason you craft this one is either for more options when dealing with enemies, or to use its peirceing to nueter planterra"s tentacles. (oh and about planterra's first phase: just about any decent weapon can nuke that, from spirit flame to hex doll to venom staff to rainbow rod, and those are just mage weapons.) That said, I do think it is severely underrated as a method of dealing with the post planterra dungeon.

Just one thing twins are easy if younot cheesing destroyer. There all easy thoto be fair.

It is my personal favorite for plantera.
Close space + infinite piercing + ricochet = hight dps.

Twins r easeast to cheese.
Decend on wings does all attacks if in diagonal line.
Then drilling with meteor staff

I know I'm late to the party, but if you think the damage on skeleton is only okay when he's spinning, you should try firing the harp IN THE DIRECTION YOU'RE BOTH MOVING, so it lingers longer.

interestingly, for me the easiest mecho boss are the twins, and the hardest is the destroyer

The magic harp is the ORIGINAL destroyer cheese weapon. you'd get it with the star cloak and you could put yourself in a box and kill the destroyer back when the mech bosses were balanced around a team of 4 players killing them.

Back in 1.2 This one was one of the best mage weapons on the entire game. I was glad that is still powerfull on the moment you get this weapon when 1.3 arrived.

It's also good for Plantera if you use the box arena, because of the richochet.

You get Unholy Trident at the same time of progression (you can choose a weaker Mech Boss, but need to farm quite a bit) which is way better in almost everything

might be my experience with mostly modded terraria, but destroyer is by far the hardest mech boss if you don't cheese it. The twins and skeletron prime have fairly easy patterns but destroyer is just genuine bullet (laser) hell and the probes don't even provide hearts enough to sustain at a decent rate.

Getting it is trivial. It’s sometimes useful. Usability varies by difficulty like all meh easy to obtain weapons.
