Randomly generated structures do count towards your wealth now I'm pretty sure. The instant I crashland my building wealth is in the thousands before I've built anything. If not the random structures what else could it be counting?

Yes since that one raider attacked me wearing a beta poly armor and I knocked him down somehow, and that armor single-handedly tripled the wealth of my colony, I just play wealth-independent mode.

I started a new game and the Random spawned walls gave me a staring 5779.074 building wealth
-I think they changed that mechanic

I'm at like 10k+ silver and I slaughtered a 45 man raid mercilessly in the industrial tech tier. Mechanoid raids however are a big monkaS

Colony Wealth Athough one of the many factors used in determining raid STR it's not the only by far. It is a good thing hole handedly. It factors in the quality and quantity of rewards and trade inventorys, increases the rate colonist mood goes up, and decreases the rate it goes down. Don't destroy items ect. Improve defences. One suggestion hunt more, a lot more. It improves shooting skills and as a nice bonus animal skill. Have pawns who have a shooting ability below 6 hunt the tiny lil guys, rats squirrels rabbits ect. They get exp even when they miss, and any pawn should be able to down one bare handed even with a melee skill of a 0. Really. This should make all the difference between struggling with raids and going goodie free stuff, maybe new prisoners ever time you get the raid warning kinda like a pod crash. Also if you look at your pawns worth you'll notice bonics do count towards colony wealth.

get some prisoners > Make a Caravan > Bring all your prisoners and powerful gears > Equip the prisioners with your powerful gear > Go back to colony > set to no recruit. Your very own walking armor storage that doesnt coun toward wealth. if you want your stuff back just strip. also dont let them escape cause if you do your pretty much fighting someone with your most powerful clothing.

Selling off assets for silver which you gift to other factions allows you to put this material wealth to use in a meaningful way which has little negative impact.

I dislike the raid system in that it doesn't take into account the distance from factions.
Having a base right next to 3-4 pirate/raider faction outposts still gives equally frequent and strong raids compared to having a base in a single isolated land hex in a middle of a HUGE fucking ocean.
I mean the fuck, where do they come from if I'm literally months of travel from nearest landmass or enemy base.
I really hope they put this into calculations for 1.0 release.

You did not actually do anything to show how wealth affected raid size, you just spawned in the biggest raid. Sorry but that's not really impressive.

I would have tried to get a natural raid or at least show the math behind it and pick an appropriate raid size to give an idea of the sort of base you would need to get such a size of raid.

Bionics not counting towards wealth if installed is what makes it so important to have them. They are a major upgrade that doesn't count towards increase difficulty.

I have 95,000 silver, and tons of sculptures and a megascreen tv, carpeted everything, but my last raid was 1 guy with goatskin clothes and a steel knife

your raid was not set to your wealth it was set to the max points raid. if you just hit start raid with no point option . it then sends a raid based off your wealth . so a raid of 8k points is only a raid with 8k points spent in the same prepare screen

In beginning, sorry for bad english!

I made a test (without God-Mode, which can testing make easier ^^).

The topic, smoothed floors against carpet. I used the Rimworld Wiki too ^^

I said, carpet is really good, because it raise the Wealth of a room and don't count against the space (same like Chairs). And it is a problem to raise the wealth and reduce the space of a room! A sculpture reduce the space, but raise the wealth.
A carpet raises the wealth too, ithut to influence the space (20 Wealth in number, not much, but it's pretty good to tip the scales to rich.)

The answer: Be carefull, richness will end in stronger assaults.

So i tested it, building carpets had reduced the Richness of my colony O.o Like I had known, it rises the richdom of a room, but a surprise for me, it don't count for a floor, a floor is for free ^^. (And you have more Space and something to do, with the lot of Cloth in the Mid-Game :D

Next time, when I had silver, I buy gold to make Goldtiles and I buy colonist's to feed them with drugs ^^

Uhh, you speak really quick for my, little understanding ^^

But I had tested, too ^^

Floors don't count to the Wealth of your colony, it's reduce your wealth, because stuff is used.
So a great filled stock pile is dangerous ^^. Walls count, too !

3 Autodoors are worth one Improvised Gun Turret, but a Gold floor only count for the richdom of the room, not the wealth of your Colonie ^^ So it's really dangerous to become wealthy.

175 Steel (worth is 2) and 3 Components (worth is 63 (each 21)) results in a 175x2 = 350 for Steel + 63 for Components = 413!
So, material in your Stock pile (175 Steel + 3 Compenents) or a Gun Turret, that is worth 425 Silver don't count!

Use your stock pile ^^

You can trick the game into thinking you don't have wealth by setting blueprints, waiting till the all the materials are there and forbid the blueprint before it gets built, as all the items inside don''t count towards wealth, which can be pretty helpful early-game.
