ОтветитьI have a super noob question about imagebuttons: it's simple, but I couldn't find a solution 'cause most tutorials don't show my particular example. Hope you can help me, thank you very, very much in advance!
I've made an imagebutton for a painting on the wall of a background: when you click on it, it displays a zoomed image of the painting and a comment by the main character. I've used "show screen" instead of "call", 'cause I wanted the dialogue to continue if you click anywhere else. So far, so good: everything works, except for the fact that when you're done looking at the painting and you click, the game kicks you back to the title screen. I've looked everywhere and for the life of me I can't find the right script line to resume the gameplay!
This is my code:

ОтветитьHello. Maybe you can help. I am trying to go accordingly, but... I tried it and it didn´t work. I think the issue is that I don´t know what is "screen" vs "scene" and "jump" vs "Jump" vs "call". Why is at the end Jump("end") and what is does. "end" is just text?? What is zeil_learnings_logo? It is image? :O Because I understand the concept..but it doesn´t work because I don´t know what are the things use in it. Thank you
ОтветитьLove your tutorials! One question: I got the code to work however, when ever my mouse hovers over the image the "hovered image" doesn't show. Do you have any possible fixes for that?

Ответитьcan I do a call to a seperated script? So if I have a menue for example a a picture of a town and you walk to the town houses by klicking on them. I can call that menue for anywhere in the game? By simply calling for the script?

I've looked at various forums, but those all contain the phrase 'screen countdown' when calling the countdown, which renpy won't allow. I'm guessing it's because we've already got 'screen' written for the imagebutton. idk, I only recently started using renpy, plz help!

ОтветитьYes but these are main menu buttons. How would you replace the option buttons at the bottom during gameplay to images?(load, preferences, skip, etc. ,,, the buttons under the gui dialogue box)
Would you do the same?

Would you ever make a tutorial for someone who wants to make a point and click game where if you click on certain buttons it takes you to different rooms? I think I want my game to work like that, such as the player clicks the button to enter a room, the characters react to the player entering the room, and then the player is able to move to a different room and progress through the game that way. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around how to make it so that the game doesn't repeat the same scenes upon entering the same rooms and how to have different things happen in the same rooms as the game progresses. I hope this made sense, I'm not exactly sure how to word all of this lol.

ОтветитьHello! :) Your videos are so organized and concise. I really appreciate them! I was wondering if anyone here knows how to make it so that the hover doesn't work on transparent parts of images? I've tried using focus_mask True in my imagebutton code, and it technically works, but there is a noticeable delay before it switches to the hovered version of the image! If I hover my mouse very fast across it, or hover my mouse back and forth very quickly on top of the image, it also will not change to the hovered version.
I've tried resizing the images (pngs) to about 500x600 pixels, but to no avail. I'm assuming it has something to do with having to re-run some section of code multiple times per second that's causing the delay in registering the mouse-hover, but am not 100% sure if that's the case, or what could be causing that, since I don't have much code in the file (it's less than 50 lines long!). I've put my focus_mask True just above the auto code (for the hover and idle) if that helps!
I'd really appreciate any help!!! <3
When you replace the images with auto, im not sure how it still knows which images to put there because theyre no longer a part of the code. Could you please clarify this?

ОтветитьIt wasn't working for me, the text didn't show up, until I realized that I didn't give the button an action, once I did it worked perfectly. I wonder if I could get the same without an action.
Edit: action Hide("displayTextScreen")
I need to sleep, it was easier than I thought at first, leaving that as the only action.
