Hey Keith, great video. Thank you!!!! What is the secret to remove all that extra information in SuperPutty? Mine shows IP address, port and some extra info! Thanks! :)
ОтветитьI haven't tested this yet, but this could be a real godsend. I'm finding that packet tracer is missing quite a few commands and command parameters, which makes it harder to study for ICND 2. This may be just what I need.
ОтветитьHi Keith, I am big fan of your teaching.
I was trying to learn ccna security using GNS3. I tried DHCP snooping in C3700 router with 16 port switch module. It doesnt allow me to do so.
Can you please help me if there are some different commands to do that.
great thank you my teacher
ОтветитьUse the VLAN database command from privileged mode. That is how you can add the new vlans to the VLAN database on the router with a switch module. Keith
Ответитьare we able to use switchport trunk allow vlan add 1,2,3 ? i cant seem to add multiple vlans with gns3
ОтветитьI use 3725 12.4.15, and add the router switch module. There may be other flavors that work, but that is the one I use. Keith
ОтветитьThanks for the post, and the tip!!! Keith
ОтветитьOn top, I discover the switching function you're telling us about just a week before I'm due to sit into the CCNA electric chair....
ОтветитьThat's great. I too was a victim of the "Yeah, unfortunately GNS3 doesn't do switching" urban myth. Thanks for sorting that one. I got the switch module running, but was having trouble simply creating the vlans. I was in (config)# mode typing 'vlan 2' to create the vlan and getting "% ambiguous or unknown command". Then I discovered that you had to revert to the old command "vlan database" first, then the magic happened. I mention just in case your viewers run into this.
ОтветитьHello Jose- Thanks for the positive feedback. Happy that enjoyed the MicroNugget. Keith
ОтветитьAWESOME!!!
ОтветитьHi Ishtiaq- I have had that happen (occasionally) when I had only 1 device on the topology. I would add 2 or 3 more, and see if it shows up with only 1 of those devices turned on. If not, power up a second, and then see. If that doesn't help, and is consistent with just those 2 models, I would see about getting a different version of IOS for those models, or un-installing GNS3 (on windows use the control panel) and then a fresh install. Hopefully one of those ideas will help. Keith
ОтветитьHi Keith, I have just finished going through your GNS3 CBT nuggets, totally over the moon. It's so useful, brilliant job! I got so excited, I managed to connect my work Opnet SPGuru Model with GNS3 and doing some video related buffer underflow research for different flavour of TCP. I am facing an issue with idle PC at present, I have 4 Cisco IOS (1760,2620XM,3660 & 3725). Unfortunately GNS3 doesn't provide idle PC value (value with *) for 1760 & 2620. Any idea why? Thanks
ОтветитьHi Russdog- Thank you for your comments. Happy to hear about your enthusiasm for learning. We are glad to be a part of that. Best wishes, Keith Barker
ОтветитьI have at least 3 of your videos in tabs at any given time. I watch one and pause it and experiment with it on P.T. Then my mind goes into "I wonder what would happen if.." mode and I have another Packet Tracer running with that going. I am obsessed with learning everything I can. :)
ОтветитьIf you ever have a place for someone that has taught themselves routing and switching as well as protocols by studying your videos night and day for 2 years... let me know. Thanks.
Ответить@2007Russdog Hello right back at you. ;) Keith
ОтветитьHello Keith.
ОтветитьVery Good Cheers :)
