ОтветитьDARUDE - SANDSTORM DETECTED
ОтветитьIn the 1970's as a teenager we used to go to Farrell's Ice Cream Parlor. The music was always ragtime, which I guess makes sense as Ice Cream stores called "Parlors" and Ragtime came out about the same time, 1890's. According to google that was also about the time the American West Frontier era was coming to a close. Maybe that is why people associate the old west with Ragtime? Wellerman does seem a bit of a more cryptic piece for a lively piano tune but that is what makes it interesting, in my humble opinion.
ОтветитьOkay. First, big ups for the keyboard chops. That said, I don't think that "Wellerman" is a good candidate to do as a jaunty "stride" piece. It's originally a "shanty", which would likely have been sung by a ship's crew whilst hauling lines, or loading cargo, and thus would have been sung at a deliberate, "working pace" tempo, accentuated by the "grunt" at the end of verses, which would have coincided with the pulling of a line or the lifting of a weight.
Ответитьlike the bass in that.
ОтветитьGreat playing and a pleasure to enjoy the music without dwelling on the brutal whaling which inspired the original shanty
ОтветитьWhaou whaou.......x1000000❤❤

ОтветитьFantastic!!
ОтветитьI went to a public school, and our music teacher played something ragtime, one time. We cheered so loud for so long the principal finally had to come upstairs and tell us to shut up! We were disturbing the whole school, and we couldn't ever cheer like that again, or he would be in trouble!
ОтветитьGrande !! Ciao from warm Italy ! +++++
