NEW PlayStation Portal Unboxing + Pulse Explore Hands On!

Something else I’ve noticed with the PlayStation Portal is the triggers and sticks seem to be a tad smaller.

My only complaint so far from everything I’ve seen online is I hope they ad being able to play streamable games from your PS5 because right now you can’t play Streamable PS Plus games which seems sucky to me.

Also don’t know if it’ll play only downloaded games or if you have a disc in can you play disc games?

Yea I was excited for this. It’s a bummer that you cannot even access the cloud gaming portion even if you’re subscribed to that plan. Also you cannot stream media is a huge bummer. That’s where they lost me. This device had so much potential but Sony always puts out great consoles and cuts them at the knees so they can’t be great. Disappointed is the only word to describe this.

No offense but wtf is the point In this just use cloud gaming or use the backbone there is no point in this tbh the only so called accessory. I’ll probably buy would be the PlayStation VR 2

Ya’ll complained about a $100 ps backbone controller. Say the ps portal is to expensive/ useless at $200. But if Sony made another “dedicated handled”, it would be $400+ and y’all would still complain, cause most of y’all just got a PS5, don’t have one, or just broke. So HUSH IT😂

my work wifi blocks the playstation app on their wifi, so i have to use a vpn for my backbone. Im trying to figure out if this would be worthless to me

I hate this concept of needing Internet to function and that it's only purpose is to stream through ps5. I'm Happy with my PS4 with Vita Remote Play.

No standard bluetooth is mental for this. Pure anti-consumer.

Can I use a USB-C to USB-A dongle and plug headphone receiver directly into the back of the Portal to use my Sony Pulses?

Ps3 was Bluetooth capable and allowed a range of Bluetooth devices

The cost and usage of it makes no sense. Getting a steam deck or just using your phone with a controller attachment makes way more sense. The playstation portal might be useless in a couple of years when the ps6 comes out. The ps vita could do this, had bluetooth, oled and can play games locally.

How’s the latency on the portal? Better than like the backbone? Good enough to play like call of duty without wanting to hurl myself from the highest tower?

the ear phones at £200 is way too much for what they are

what i don't understand is why they couldnt have developped this so you can connect directly to the internet and stream games from the cloud with a ps plus membership -- it seems it is absolytely capable of doing that but they have limited it so people are forced to buy a PS5 instead

Sony says we need a minimum of 5mbps for a stable connection but is it a 1080p 60hz from the 5mbps or will the frames and quality drop from just a 5mbps wifi speed, cause there is people with low speeds or even a house filled with devices 😂

Will enjoy this as having no real game time on the tv due to the family use. However am disappointed it’s not an OLED display.
