Give me a 70 year old Royal manual office typewriter any day.
ОтветитьHello @TylerMowery, I would like to ask you if it does some difference when you use standard formatting with 60 characters per line or modern formatting with 61 characters per line...? Lastly, I realized that Americans use the letter format which is a little smaller than the European A4 format, precisely smaller about four lines, so I rather ask about both things... does the rule of one page equal to one minute apply in all those cases? Thank you for your videos. :)
ОтветитьThank you.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьI learned more from this video than I have in 20 years of me trying to format my screenplays by simply reading other screenplays. Thank you Tyler :)
ОтветитьMy uncle onces said me that without a guru(mentor) you can't learn anything and you can't be anything and for me you are my guru(mentor). Thank you so much for teaching me and others about screenwriting cause Many other like me don't have much money to join some film schools or online course you are helping all of us. Thanks again ♥♥♥️.
I wish i could meet you one day and hug you. Thanks 🙏
I love the references to real screenplays. I learned so much.
ОтветитьI don’t have a software. I just use Google docs for now I’m young so I just do it for my personal enjoyment but this one trying I’m doing could be a series when I get older. Definitely gonna work on everything I learned from you in the second episode tomorrow
ОтветитьLoved the various examples of scripts that were produced and explanations why they deviated from the norm. Well done.
ОтветитьI needed this for a class. Thanks!
ОтветитьGreat job !
ОтветитьThanks
ОтветитьHow do I get in touchvwith you?
ОтветитьI submitted my screenplay to a competition (a Feature) and was told that Features don't break Acts, only TV scripts do? Does that mean - not at all- or, you don't end the Act, but do note the beginning of a new act?
ОтветитьThis is how bad films get made.
ОтветитьI thought about whether to put character thoughts in the action lines or not. Currently, I decided to do it, so the director and actor have clues to what to show. I want them to have the freedom to express how to represent that, therefore I don't express it in more specific guidance. Does that make sense? Can that work out?
E.g. I write "Character is surprised and thinks about their next move". By not being more specific, the director can choose to tell the actor to express the thought in a close-up with wrinkles on their forehead, or simply by extending the previous shot and drawing it out without movement or action. And I personally really don't have a preference, as long as everything fits together in the end.
Does anyone know why SCISSORS and STAPLER were both capitalized in the Gone Girl script?
ОтветитьYour videos are so good!! thank u mate!
ОтветитьThank you for this video it was so helpful ... no one has broke it down so easy like this for me
Ответитьthanks for this Tyler
ОтветитьWhat’s funny, Tyler, is I think your videos are mostly goofy nonsense. But since I co-sold Gone Girl (and led the deal) I’ll watch this one and maybe do a response video. Lol
ОтветитьWhy this video without subtitles like the rest of the videos??????????????????????????????????
ОтветитьNice video. This film could use a better ending, as I see it now.
ОтветитьThis was a good video.
ОтветитьTyler's video are always clear, concise and I am glad I found his channel. It's like gold to me in explaining these industry terms.
ОтветитьTyler saved me $80k of film school with this series. Thank you.
Ответитьi wrote a long script on studiobinder and in the end the webpage, cuz its a webpage, started to lag/drag...i guess free has its drawbacks...works well for a short film script
Ответить✌✌
ОтветитьGreat video but ummm posters in the back?? What are those??
Ответитьstudio binder is the one!
ОтветитьI need a sample of how to format a tv news inside a film, like something the characters are watching but it has to be pre shot or described for the characters in the tv news. (do I explain myself well?)
ОтветитьKid, you're the bomb! I can't believe how pro these videos are. You and your team are amazing. Thank you so much.
ОтветитьWhen you know your script is only a sales device (which will be formatted into something workable by a professional) go ahead and break the simple rules and play director. Just don't do it on page one.
ОтветитьI watch it cause youre cute😀
ОтветитьThanks, that was very helpful
ОтветитьThis is an EXCELLENT Video...
Thank you Tyler for sharing this video.
Am I correct in assuming people who break the formatting rules and get their scripts accepted are established writers who have earned the right to bend rules?
ОтветитьI’m 17 I cant afford final draft...lol
ОтветитьCheers to this I highly appreciate it and would still love to see you drop more vedios focusing on writing the script more in detail.
ОтветитьThnks man..🙏🙏
ОтветитьUr channels every videos are more important to me plz add subtitle
ОтветитьI tried to embed this video in notions but it is not working, I wonder why. I usually embed them in notions and take notes. Tyler's other videos work fine. hmm.....
ОтветитьAnyone else using Celtx?
