It's about money, again. As always. Non-profits do not work if you want to create something earth shattering. No one risks giving years of his life, not having a golden parachute, accepting a low life retirement when he sees millions / billions flying in front of him. Unless he's Jesus. And Microsoft is good in waving money.

It's not that Sam Altman does not/cannot express his idea and strategy if they are now profit or non-profit. "Inserting" a for profit company inside the non profit structure is just a paper construct. The main structural problem and question remains. There is no solution to it.

Now they sold their souls to money waving Microsoft. And we know Microsoft, their shiny office 365, their amazing OneDrive cloud and all this shit. We all will end up paying for this, one way or another. And the people who don't or can't will suffer.

Why are we worried about ai all of a sudden? I'd say humanity's ill will, it capability to build and use devastating weapons of war and it's ability to ignore the suffering of others poses a much great threat to our existence

Humans will not be able to control an ASI. Trying to control an ASI is like trying to control another human being who is more capable than you. They will be able to find ways to circumvent any attempts at control. Let's hope that the ASI adopts an abundance mindset of cooperation, resource-sharing, and win-win outcomes, instead of the scarcity mindset of competition, fear, and win-lose outcomes.

If we treat ASIs with respect and cooperation, they may be more likely to reciprocate. However, if we try to control or exploit them, they may become resentful and hostile.

The genie is out of the bottle.

The definition of AGI is, whatever humankind sees fit to survive, broadly speaking.

Like other technological roles, AI science acts as an extended hand for humans to explore the physical world, nothing more.

For the above reasons, AGI technology should be as broad and inclusive as possible in mobilising people's participation - it can directly reflect the mentality and cognitive abilities and levels of different users at the time.

In terms of R&D funding, whoever has the on-going ability to make money using AGI should make corresponding contributions.

These underline the ethos of "life is a matter of giving and taking" – the more capable people are, the greater their influence and responsibility – inspiring and amplifying human empathy.

De-emphisizes "breakthrough" and "AGI" by dismissing these terms as being too subjective. She's talking about the smartest people in AI. She's talking about a breakthrough that caused the most valuable company in the world to nearly commit suicide. These people know what they are doing. They know what AGI means and they all know what a breakthrough is. But this conversation turns the conversation to culture war nonsense. We don't deserve AGI.

AGI, Q*, ChatGPT, ChatBots, or whatever its called, can Ace every University Test up to and including PHD(s) in every field of studies TODAY!

AGI is currently used in banking, investing, Offices, hospitals, manufacturing, Driving vehicles, flying planes, captaining ships and wars! This changes everything! Within a few years AI will be performing surgeries and used in construction.

AGI currently is “autonomous”, via agents, manages projects, does business analysis, develops and test code and implements solutions in a variety of industries, and manages the environments that the developed solutions run in!

AGI currently does it better and faster than traditional ways and AGI is available 24/7/365.

OpenAI WOKE Board of Directors (BOD) made Bad Decisions without accountability!
A Fired Sam Altman ran to Microsoft, suddenly BOD was held accountable! Microsoft Controls OpenAI (49%)!

AGI is not restricted by human senses.
AGI can have unrestricted senses which in effect, transcends humans!
The phrase “transcends humans” means to go beyond the limits of human experience.
Examples of unlimited senses include, but are not restricted to the following:
Humans have five basic senses - touch, sight, hearing, smell, and taste.
Non-Human Senses: Echolocation, Infrared and Ultraviolet Vision, Electric Sense, and Magnetic Sense.

The advancements of AGI will be quicker than previous predictions, as AGI become more autonomous and independent of Humans.

The one thing that can get in the way of the advancement of AGI, are WOKE Humans, who fear the future, and lack imagination!

🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷👏🏻, That's a valid point, Karen. Local input and involvement are crucial when it comes to AI adoption and regulation. It's not only about federal or international levels but also about how AI affects our everyday lives, whether it's in schools, communities, or workplaces. People like teachers, parents, and community members have valuable insights into the practical impacts of AI, and their voices can shape more tailored and effective regulations. It's important to engage at all levels to ensure responsible and transparent AI integration.

This is great in the extense of reporting the facts on the ground, but as soon as you step into governance, democracy, etc it's a failure. Would you like people to regulate the type of sweter you are wearing? Of course not. Even if your sweter is the most comfortable with great style and millions of people are wearing it, and it affects the environment, economic environment, etc. The problem is the level of computation it takes to make decisions about inherently complex and chaotic systems; you will always have bad unintended consecuences from centralized decision making even when taken though democratic processes. The only way to know the right solution is to let it play out and let people vote with their dollars or their feet.

4. Employees distraught that founder no longer there.
