Haven't seen anything this beautiful and functional at the same time in my life
Ответитьhi
ОтветитьBrilliant!!
ОтветитьWell now we all know that if water rises and turns us all into a Kevin Costner Waterworld at least we can strategize so much instead of colonizing Mars a gagillion miles away so
ОтветитьThis guy has so much life and energy and its dynamic and promising
ОтветитьTransporting terrorist Arabias all over the 🌍
ОтветитьOur near future will not be high-tech. My book, Surviving the Micronova: The Train Is on the Tracks heralds the return of the Micronova at the end of its last 12,000 year cycle. When the solar magnetosphere gets very active as it is now, it weakens Earth's magnetosphere which allows X-class flares to get through to the planet which can result in the rain of "spacewater" from the collision of hydrogen ions from the sun with oxygen in the Earth's atmosphere at the same time that magnetic reversal changes rotation of the Earth which, in turn, creates "sloshing" of the oceans and other large bodies of water as tsunamis that flood the continents. It has already begun as noted by the sun changing to a blazing white most of the day, from the gentle yellow remembered by elders like me. And my compass no longer points toward the North because the magnetic "north pole" has moved across the Arctic Ocean to the coastline of Siberia, on its way to the Bay of Bengal. Humans have survived these catastrophes, if they are prepared.
ОтветитьI am obsessed with this type of work!
ОтветитьThe only barriers to this is money, greed and the government
ОтветитьBiggest problem of this is it's can't be self-sustainable if they don't have the material needed to build & maintain the techs ( that must be taken from the land )
ОтветитьAbsolutely great talk and Loved the Idea! Really hoping to be part of it soon (:
ОтветитьThis is trully inspiring as an architecture student in a tropical country
ОтветитьThis dude should run for office.
Ответитьcan these developments hurry up. can we make our governments invest more into it
ОтветитьBuild it build it now
Ответитьgo sps eps ops,
Ответитьhow would the islands sustain storms, or hurricanes?
ОтветитьThis guy has charisma by the boat load!
ОтветитьInsanity - Stupidest thing Ive ever heard to defeat sea level rise - floating anything adds to sea level rise by displacement - ARCHIMEDES PRINCIPLE
"a body immersed in a fluid experiences a buoyant force equal to the weight of the fluid it displaces"
Floating cities will increase sea level rise directly - please stop this madness.....
So exciting to see these creative solutions. Please direct your attention to Cape Town.
Ответитьif rising tides are such a danger then why do no banks and no insurance companies rate that property as a danger to invest in? you couldn't get a loan to develop this land if it's going away so quickly. nobody would invest in it.
ОтветитьSuch an amazing idea
ОтветитьThat's nice, great idea, I like it!
ОтветитьShaggy as frick
ОтветитьThis floating city idea is cool, i think lot of us had it when we were daydreaming, but it is not gonna happen soon lot of problem to be solved.
Biggest problems:
-Cities are historically never been self sustainable. It cannot be done, the first thing would happen is they would build a huge harbor for shipping stuff in, from outside the world. You want a new shoe, or phone, or you just want to eat a pizza you will need stuff from the outside world.
-If you get stuff only from the sea, you will just abuse it dry.
- With the most optimistic measures you need 2000 m2 to sustain one person. With the most advanced vertical farming this can be brought down to 20m2 So that central cool looking farm is would be suffitient for 120 person. That is not much.
-Huge storms, or even tsunamies can be devastating.
-It would cost crazy money. Which money can be used to build better designs. The world has still a lot of place where you could build something.
Cool project, but it is like an experiment for the far far future when we will be 200 billions.
Good luck with the tsunami :)
ОтветитьThis man is amazing, but he sounds like Christopher Walken and Arnold Schwarzenegger put together.
ОтветитьSo basically this guy needs to go to Dubai and make The World islands actually work, by abandoning the idea that they're gonna be functioning islands.
ОтветитьSarif was right about one thing. It's in our nature to want to rise above our limits. Think about it. We were cold, so we harnessed fire. We were weak, so we invented tools. Every time we met an obstacle, we used creativity and ingenuity to overcome it. The cycle is inevitable.
- Deus Ex Human Revolution
Me watching this while building with Lego
Interesting
I like the thought behind this architecture, but I really miss the organic, human feel of pre-modern architecture. Architecture since WWII has really lost it's soul.
ОтветитьTruly inspiring, and yes, we are getting more and more desperate, hope they're almost done with them, cuz by 2050, those islands might be our only hope for survival.
ОтветитьHe is a media guy and not working as an architect, the grunt wor is done by hundreds of employees
ОтветитьHeathy home competition is bullshit
ОтветитьGet in action fans, time to add the green coat every single building, having urban smog eaters to neutralize pollution, just like having vertical roses gardens instead of walls, Zaha's spirit to watch buildings as airplanes and boats is bringing the genius idea of using glass fiber or carbon fiber mixed to the concrete, building up LEGO bricks structures, think about it Ok?
ОтветитьVery interesting.....thanks for posting.
ОтветитьThis got me so excited about the future!
Ответитьom mani peme sidi hum hri
ОтветитьAnybody knows what happened to all this plans? Google is not being much help.
ОтветитьWoah this man is very creative and inspiring
ОтветитьWe watched this in class
ОтветитьThis really inspired me and can't wait for the future
ОтветитьWow 🤩 LEGO house are amazing . I like this sentence “ if a museum can serve as a bridge, a bridge can also serve as the museum “
ОтветитьOne idea is not to have a 'Middle East floating city', 'American floating city', or 'Scandinavian floating city', but to instead have floating sovern nations. Anyone can bring their pod/houseboat, cities or countries must compete to make theirs more attractive, people can leave freely, and we can truly see what works.
ОтветитьKinda sounds like Arnold Schwarzenegger :)
ОтветитьIf you want to read more about floating cities, check out Marshall T Savage's Millenial project. It is a really fascinating book
