great review. I got the Instinct 2x whotestone and will probably arrive tomorrow. I know that may be a Pro version in the following months but i couldnt wait for it. I'm worried about the hard plastic compared to my g shocks resin. Seems like it will just chip up and graze pretty easy. 🤔

One thing I don't hear anyone who review this watch say is the flashlights runtime

I have the original Garmin Instinct, and noticed the HR monitor was waaaaay off when I wore a ruck. I figure it had to do with the straps affecting blood flow to my wrist (nothing super heavy),. I ended up using a chest strap.

Does anyone ruck with the 2X on and also monitor their HR?

been using a 245 for abour 2yr plus...great watch except i hated the charging part. now that the battery is weaker, i need to charge almost every 2to3 days on smart watch mode only. if there is a run or any recorded activity, its a must charge after the activities. looking to buy instinct 2 then realised there is a 2X. am definitely getting the 2x. cos i do mostly tennis n badminton and all i need is the heartrate...just to make sure i am not overdoing it (a good badminton rally can drive HR to 180..prolong rallies can push it near 200 multiple times in 15min...at 52yrold...i better be careful!) anyway, the data can be viewed w full colour in the phone app.

You need a 26mm strap if you want to replace the standard silicone strap on the Instinct 2X

How does this compare in terms to the Enduro 2? Can the Enduro 2 technically get unlimited battery life with solar as well?

Is the weather/temperature feature totally independent or does it rely on being synced with your phone?

Could not find an answer to my question and your videos have been the most helpful so far with the Garmin watches. My previous phone after opening the connect app and it connects to my instincts 2 tactical, I can then close the app and lock my phone and put it in my pocket etc and it would alwasy stay connected (unless I walked away too far) but this new phone I got when I lock the screen and leave the app it disconnects from the watch. Any ideas?

I just got same as yours and pretty awesome! I thought about to get tactical version but never gonna use tactical function and pay $50 more is not good ideal

Very well analysed. I actually just ordered the 2x solar tactical version and then came accross with your video. And after looking at your review, now I am very much satisfied with my right choice, which fits in my budget.

I have 2 insticts, Fenix 5X, and now run the Instinct 2X Tactical. The 2x is a nearly perfect watch and charging is only a 2 - 3 week occurrence. Tough too.

I hope there warranty and customer service is bigger and better 😂. Pathetic

Problem is when it starts shutting down randomly for no reason even fully charged, as its predecessor, and support just asks you to buy a new one... Yeah Gramin, no thanks!

As it's now mid-November in Wisconsin, the question arises as to how the Instinct2X Tactical will tolerate cold? I'm coming from a G-Shock GWG100 Mudmaster and could wear that outside the sleeve on base and mid layers and typically uncovered by a jacket sleeve to have instant visual access... so it got exposed to cold weather, with no issues. Will the Garmin hold up as well?

Thanks for the video. In some of the smaller clips you twist your wrist. Does that do something to the face of the watch. Sorry I couldn’t tell. Maybe it’s the backlight which would be cool. Just not sure. Could you or somebody please clarify this.

wore them about a week.
noticed it won't notify me of high heart rate. nothing solves that.
going to return them.

I love my FENIX 6 Pro. Best watches out there.

Is the tatical version worth it ?

I have had Instinct 2x Solar since March 2023. Previously I had Instinct tactical, 2 instinct solar, fenix 6x and the best one is Instinct 2x Solar. Great look, mega-capacity battery, solar charging that works and a flashlight... the most frequently used gadget in this watch ;)

Thank you for such a well done video. I had and still have that original red and silver Garmin ForRunner GPS and heart rate watch. I noticed that you probably have it. Too bad you can't use it anymore with 32-bit windows having gone 64-bit so that the original software no longer works for that watch. I really miss the running man feature... Thank you for helping me find a watch that will be appropriate and that has the features I was really hoping to find... I've created a category just for your videos. They are truly well done🎉

Thanks for the video. I recently bought the Fenix 7x Pro after 3 years wearing the 6x Pro (fantastic watch). But I have to say that I would be happy to try the Instinct 2x believing the solar cell is way better than the one in the Fenix.

I'm using Instinct Solar (that is one) for 4 years already, since I missed Instinct 2 Solar I think I'll go for 2X. Thank you!

I bought the 2x because of the extended battery life and I also like the looks of it. I hike a lot and the navigation is good enough. A full map is nice but I need reading glasses anyway. So the basic map is enough for me. Like this watch a lot!

I have the AWU and just bought the 2x solar 50mm. Im going on a multi year bicycle tour and the AWU battery life is not good. As a smart watch AMU is amazing, but I’m gonna need an adventure watch. Probably end up selling my AWU.

It only miss music internal storage... :( It would be perfect for me, since i find this model the best regarding price/features.

So i have a question. A watch for me is always a must. I had a gshock for about 3 years and did me well but want to level up to something a little better. I decided to get the apple watch ultra. Even though it was great it only lasted a few months. Im a construction worker and work in rugged situations where the watch can get banged on. Stucco dust, working through insulation, and just other situations is apart of my day to day work and thats where the ultra fell short. Im looking to find something that doesnt need to charge every day and a half. Something that can handle being put through some rugged terrain and situations and still be able to work properly. The instinct 2x solar has rrally caught my attention. If people could leave me some feed bad on if its a good fit or not i would really appreciate it thank you
