Thanks for finding it
ОтветитьAwesome video, I've just subscribed 🎵
ОтветитьWhy is this channel called The RPG Chick?
Ответитьi loved HILLSFAR
ОтветитьPretty sure I remember this from 90sGamer92's channel...
ОтветитьKnights of the Chalice 1 was fantastic!
I really don't like the graphics on Knights of the Chalice 2. The color palette went to muddy, complicated and a lot more boring. Even the MS paint like visuals of the first one are IMHO far better.
I came here because of the new release of BG3 bringing the genre back to the attention of the mainstream. I absolutely loved the infinity engine games, and I’m glad to see some love for Icewind Dale. I loved the aspect with that game of creating all my own party from level 1 and following my own characters through. Of course the fully crafted story lines of BG1, 2 and now 3, offer a different kind of storytelling, I personally enjoyed that particular kind of game that has somewhat fallen out of favour more recently.
ОтветитьI'm surprised your experience with Eye of the Beholder is so negative, although you're showing gameplay from EotB3 (the worst of the bunch). Many including myself consider EotB1&2 an all time classic. It's interface actually is quite elegant, especially when using keyboard for movement. Quite the list though. I forgot about many of the curiosities, although I played many of the older titles.
ОтветитьLove BG1 and 2 + IWD1 and 2!
I try to play those games once a year.
I wished they would have a created more games in other parts of Forgotten Realms or in the Ravenloft world using the Infinity Engine.
I cant believe stronghold and Fantasy empire got glossed over... like i get it but also. I love that they were trying new things. I think Stronghold, fantasy Empire and War of the Lance were really interesting additions to the D&D library.
ОтветитьI think you have something quite impressive here and it was a great trip down memory lane for a lot of them, thanks heaps for all your work!
🤩🤩
Boy the audio clip of birthright playing while in another tab made me thing some weird 70s gay porn had come one.
ОтветитьThis was a very impressive overview, and one heck of a first video for me to watch.
It's a shame you couldn't capture Neverwinter Nights. It's a very impressive game, with a long lasting legacy.
Neverwinter Nights 2, not as much for very complex set of reasons.
Tip for Pool of Radiance: if you want your wizard to learn Knock (which is necessary to complete the storyline as one plot critical door cannot be bashed or picked), you MUST learn it at level up since the game does NOT have any Knock scrolls.
ОтветитьThe ad&d goldbox games where great fun. BG1 abd IWD1 was the last fun rpg games.
ОтветитьMost of the SSI gold box games do let you modify and max out stats :) GoG also has very good versions that are easily launchable plus the Eye of the Beholder and the Dark Sun games.
ОтветитьGreat video
ОтветитьThe original author really missed the point on the gold box games and didn’t dig deep enough into them. Creating a halfling female fighter was FUN as you were, oh what is it, ah yes, Roleplaying!!! Oh wow, you modified your party to maxed out stats, how original is that. Vs you beat the game with what!?!??!! Alignment did have consequences in the series, it allowed for different interactions and treatment.
ОтветитьI know a secret! In secret of the silver games, you can hack the game to play as a tribble if you select the title label in the character creation process, and give yourself 25 on stats :-D
ОтветитьExcellent and informative historical video. Hadriex did an awesome job. Nice to see what a powerful influence DnD has had on computer rpgs where we now have incredible works like BALDUR'S GATE III. Incredible how many great dungeon crawlers came out in the first three years of the 1990's which was the zenith of gaming on the Commodore Amiga.
Good to see the channel is going strong. All is well over here. Been playing STARFIELD which is plenty of sandbox rpg fun. Feels more DAGGERFALL in its design alongside the procedural generation. For a game that is supposed to be unoptimized it runs great on my i7 8700, 16gb ram, RTX 2060, SSD on Windows 10 at a resolution of 1080p. My video card does not even meet the 8GB vram requirement yet i have not had a single crash or lag yet. Thank goodness since this gives me more time to save up for a new pc to comfortably play upcoming rpgs like THE WAYWARD REALMS by many of the Devs who worked on THE ELDER SCROLLS II DAGGERFALL such as Julien Lafey.
Been enjoying BALDUR'S GATE III. Tabletop gaming gone digital at its finest capturing the gorgeous art style of the genre along with the mature adult relationships. The remake of WIZARDRY: PROVING GROUNDS OF THE MAD OVERLORD is also amazing. I have always wanted to play the earlier games in the series but the visuals and control scheme just seemed to archaic but this remake which just recently came out on STEAM is incredible with all sorts of quality of life enhancements and gorgeous redone graphics including skeletal kobolds for modern pcs. It is still in early access but already quite enjoyable.
Have a great Autumn RPGChick and Happy Gaming! ☕
This is really fascinating and informative, I've made a list of some of these that I'll be checking out.
It's like peeping into this completely separate multiverse of forgotten worlds. Great video.
Ummm you missed like half of the DND video games from the 2000s? Was there a reason for that or do you just not know all the games?
ОтветитьI had all 9 Gold Box games, Dungeon Hack, all 3 Eye Of The Beholder, Dark Sun games, Ravenloft games, Fantasy Empires & Unlimited Adventures. I also had a Buck Rogers game along the lines of the Gold Box games., then nothing until Warcraft 3, Diablo (1, 2, 3 & 4), World Of Warcraft Final Fantasy XIV, Guild Wars 2 & Star Trek Online.
ОтветитьMan I have been looking for this video for YEARS. Not constantly mind you LOL. But every now and then I would check to see if I could find it and would get frustrated when I could not. Thank you so much for posting this again.
Ответитьthank you for preserving this.
ОтветитьThank you very much for preserving this!
ОтветитьNeverwinter nights gave me the best online roleplaying years in my life... Best game ever
ОтветитьSolasta, crown of magister.
ОтветитьI play D&D and I have have played most of these games. I find it funny that the best rpg video game in my opinion is Skyrim. It's a fun game I keep going back to where as most of these I quit a few hours in. There is only maybe 5 I really enjoy.
ОтветитьBeen wanting to watch this again for years. Thanks for the upload!
ОтветитьTHANK YOU! I really liked this video.
ОтветитьThank you for reuploading! I was devistated when this was removed 😨
Ответитьcan you upload more videos from 90sgamer92??? there are multiple videos from his channel that were blocked
ОтветитьFor me nothing will ever top the Gold Box games, especially the Krynn series.
ОтветитьNever heard of this, really interesting. Thank you!
ОтветитьThank you for re uploading this
ОтветитьDude, this is one awesome video!
ОтветитьI remember watching this video waay bavk in the day and loved every second of it. Thnks!
ОтветитьThank you for bringing this back to us. Made for a great video while working today.
ОтветитьI LEFT A COMMENT WITHOUT READING THE DISCRIPTION! IM A REBEL!
ОтветитьI can testify that the D&D Tactics game on the PSP is quite good. I had great fun with it and it is strange that it never appeared on any other platforms. It's a shame, as I had a good time with it.
ОтветитьOmg, I missed this video from 90sgamer92. Thank you!
Ответить1970s CRPG designers:
"Let's design a CRPG with our own characters set in a completely original world that we create from scratch."
"Great! What should we call it?"
"Gandalf's Adventures in the Land of Middle-earth."
"Sounds good to me!"
Baldurs gate is my favorite
